Ok. Misread your intentions then

Well, good for you. I'm not.

Thx. It's more about versatility in my eyes. A smartphone should be, above all else, practical. So a perfect phone for me would be something like Fairphone but with a 3,5mm jack, physical front buttons, and 2 cameras on the back (wide and normal/narrow lens). Mby additional sensors like a barometer, assuming that can be scaled down or done digitally/electronically.

Doesn't need it. If i want it's input, i'll ask.

Well, nothing of worth on social media tbh. Reddit and lemmy might be exeptions, but they're getting worse too (reddit more so ofc, but still)

Not nessesarily, we could just fucking buckle at every turn. Either that or something that makes all sides lose.

The computer ain't gonna tell me when to restart. I decide that, not it. And it's not getting regular restarts. Hell, my phone bugs me about restarting after i don't do it for a month, and the fucking notification won't fuck off. Can't bloody stand it

Well i meant physical buttons but i also think phone displays should be 5 inches, 5.5 at absolute most. Also, by the by, the main advantage of physical buttons is a) useabilty while gloved or with wet/dirty hands and b) being able to know precisely what button you're on by touch

Do not cave. Be strong bratan. Either they cut the shit, or you leave that part of the internet.

What stopped working:

  • GzDoom (native, black screen after choosing .wad)
  • Orcs Must Die 1 & 2 (proton, either doesn't launch at all, or launches with severe graphical issues such as the menu and buttons missing or the whole thing being pink and green)
  • serious sam tfe, tse; painkiller black (wine via either bottles or pol, extreme speedup every 5 seconds)
  • luxor 3 (bottles, crashes on launch)
  • hotline miami 2 (proton, crash on launch)
  • lego indy 2 (bottles, sound effects at 150% loudness)

most of these worked previously, but seemingly broke out of nowhere, unless driver or kernel updates wrecked thwm, but if that is the case i haven't the faintest clue on how to troubleshoot that besides trying every previous kernel i can still download.

Device: Legion 5-15, 16gb ram, radeon 5 4600, nvidia rtx 3060 mobile, newest version of mint and newest LTS kernel. LUKS partition. I'll add more info when i get home.

So, tl;dr:

  • how to troubleshoot proton games
  • how to troubleshoot wine games in bottles and pol
  • how to prevent games breaking out of nowhere in the future
