What if the GUI was just another terminal emulator?

I love darkest hour, it's good it's just not undoing ruin...but what is?
Good, college sports have always profited hugely at the expense of athletes. Now let's see if money in recruiting can make a few super-teams that are a higher quality.
Dave Barry summed this up with his last column pretty well:
On the other hand, if I write something that turns out - despite my relentless fact-checking - to be inaccurate, such as that Thomas Jefferson invented the atomic bomb, I will receive dozens of letters, often very irate, correcting me.
It's easily the worst part of reddit, and wider social media.
Barbara Manatee is a jam
Pedantic is an insulting word used to describe someone who annoys others by correcting small errors, caring too much about minor details, or emphasizing their own expertise especially in some narrow or boring subject matter.
??
There's nothing pedantic about using Arch. There's a reason it and its derivatives are so popular.
Way to show off how not-pedantic you are!
I agree, the amount of "This person needs to die" is crazy here.
There is even less room for a nuanced discussion of anything.
I have a Lenovo TS140 in the laundry room, i3-4330, 16GB, 2TB of SSD running arch.
In docker I am running:
Plex, Wire guard, Qbittorrent, Pihole, my discord bot, nginx, and Teslamate.
Works great, I'm probably going to swap my gaming rig in (5800x + 3080 12GB) with more RAM to host some AI stuff and the same services.
It's windows security center, Everything search, locales, sound settings, time, copilot, surely not that bad.
Everything is installed by the user, not sure why the locales are there, but maybe he swaps keyboard layouts?
I never understood the zeropods hate, Mercedes built the second fastest car but it looked different, so everyone immediately knew more than the people at Mercedes that said "We know why it's slow, and it's not the side pods"
Then they introduced an update that didn't make them faster than Red Bull, and immediately everyone goes "Ha! I told you it's the side pods!" And they were like "No, but fine, here's some side pods" and the car also didn't get any faster.
Why on earth does reddit and (I'm assuming lemmy) think that they know more than the people that design, build and understand the car?
I have always hated discord's interface. Just because something else is worse doesn't give Discord a free pass.
