Partially yes, partially no. It depends on the use case.

If I'm looking to idly scroll random content, sure, it's great!

For online community, definitely. Given the open disregard that Reddit Inc leadership has shown towards the community, developers, and volunteers who keep the show running, I don't feel comfortable contributing there anymore.

If i'm looking for specialized information on a specific topic, definitely not. Google Search + site:reddit.com still reigns here.

Yes and suggesting that average users can simply set up a server and then navigate either Docker or Ansible just to maintain consistent content preferences isn't perhaps realistic. Even for tech-literate folks it's kind of a big lift, and I have to suspect it's one of the issues that could keep the Fediverse from enjoying wider adoption.

Usually around 76/77.

My upstairs used to run about ten degrees hotter until I installed a booster fan in the duct to pull cool basement air up there. I know they're generally ill-advised for most scenarios, but it works incredibly well for me in summer since it would have been a very expensive proposition to upsize the vent, install a return, or put in a mini-split.

Time to print out more code and bring it to the boss for review.

Yakitate!

Kazuma Azuma wants to make bread. Not just any kind of bread, though. He wants to make a bread that represents Japan itself and can stand toe-to-toe with rice as a national food. Thanks to his legendary "Hands of the Sun," unnaturally warm hands that allow dough to ferment faster, Kazuma's bread is like a slice of Heaven.

I suspect they do, in fact, understand the difference. And are intentionally conflating lemmy the platform with lemmy.ml the instance in order to dissuade people from using the platform, since they know that most people new to the platform wouldn't understand the distinction.

That's the confusing bit. Even if one considers this a good approach, criminalization hasn't really been our problem. Lack of enforcement has been our problem. This seems to just expand the list of crimes we're not enforcing, not referring to the DA's office, and not following up on.

I apologize for this. I put summer sheets on the bed before July, and started packing away winter clothes, which clearly angered the Cascadian weather gods with my hubris.

Looks like adding a second track:

add a second track to sections of the Red Line between the Gateway Transit Center and PDX, which TriMet says will improve system-wide reliability.

The timing seems questionable though. I'd think that any time other than our absolute peak travel season would have been better.

I’m happy to talk whenever, but I just haven’t been able to reach them.

Sounds like a recurring theme based on the AMA. It's almost as if Reddit is being disingenuous when they keep talking about how eager they are to work with 3rd-party devs.

Humans are paradoxically really good at adaptation, and also not admitting mistakes. Dude is singularly responsible for the biggest PR fumble in Reddit history and seemingly has zero self awareness despite being at the center of it.
