If that logic holds true than pure American pitbull terriers should actually be the safest dogs to own in regards to people. Pitbulls where bred for dog fighting, but even more specifically they were bred to not bite the handlers. As getting a dog to fight is just a matter of time and selection, but getting a dog to fight only dogs and not people is something much more difficult and valuable, at the time.

But, that was many, many years ago. And the breed has been bred and bred and inbred and bred again. An American pitbull terrier average weight is about 35 to 60 lbs. Average. 35 is no bigger than an average corgi. With 60 at the high end being a small golden or average chow.

These XL bully breeds aren't pitbulls. Hell, even pitbulls now days aren't pitbulls. They are a mix of staffy, mastiff, American bull dogs, English bulldogs, and random other terriers. And then sold as designer breeds like the American bully with no regard for behavior, temperament, or loyalty.

Things are bad at a federal level. That isn't something you can avoid by moving to a Good place, as you call it. Yes, I said state by state but that was only half the concept. It's state by state for now. With federal protections being stripped that means we are one election from going the complete opposite direction. That is not a Good place to be.

This is entirely dependent on who you are. My wife just had the highest court of the land tell her she has no medical privacy. Sure, right now it 's on state by state basis, but that can change. Every member of the supreme Court said under oath they wouldn't overturn precident and yet here we are. I have no worries that anything bad will happen to me due to legislation, but I am a white cis male. My wife isn't. My best friend is a POC. My inner circle is filled with nonbinary and poc. All these people are actually being affected by the "culture wars" in very real and tangible ways. Feeling like it's all okay right now must be coming from a very privileged and secluded position. Having held multiple people that I love dearly while they cry because their rights were stripped changes your perspective on a lot of things.

Or the libertarian city in New Hampshire that ended with highly intelligent and motivated bears taking it over.

I didn't say it was the worst writing change I can think of?

Gotta remember: when regressives say that it worked well in the past, they mean it worked well for a very specific class of people. Mainly, upper and middle class white men. That is on purpose. They obviously know school was not good for the POC, minorities , the poor, and probably women 200 years ago.

Unless they are idiots.

They canned the writers from 1 and 2 and promoted this goober who said that "Twilight was good writing" to finish the 3rd game.

Which is why we go from having Shepard being such a badass the Reapers tried to make a reaper version of humans, to all of a sudden being all PTSD about shit.

Electric vehicles aren't meant to save humanity. They are meant to save the car. If we removed all gas vehicles off the road right that wouldn't even stop 30 percent of emissions. The only way to save humanity at this point is to stop capitalism. As long as we continue to expect the market to find a solution to a problem that has no profit motivator we will never save humanity. Elon included.

My guess: This guy, and all his rich friends have a ton of money invested in commercial real estate. He's putting his own interest before the interest of his company. The more people work from home the better for Zoom, but the worse off he and his rich friends are.

What happened last time the Germans started making vast generalizations about a group of people?

Americans have been shown again and again that hard work doesn't mean more pay. Add to that housing costs have risen to a level that has become unattainable to many even if you were to double their wages. You find yourself questioning why work beyond the minimum if all that stress and time loss means you are not getting any further in life than had you just done the bare minimum.

Fuck karma and check marks. I want anonymity back. I want the old internet. This "social networking" shit is lame. Lemmy doesn't need Twitter or reddit level of success. Look where that has got them.
