maybe a subtle taste of a fried porkchop? honestly even if i eat a pork rind normally they taste like nothing. if you can eat pork its is a great and easy substitute because it is so similar to panko

While maybe not kid friendly due to themes in the game, but i think The Binding of Issac is a pretty good place to start.

It is easy to learn, but provides enough space for skill growth. It offers a nice mysterious progression of enhancements and curses to amplify that core gameplay. Furthermore, the gameplay loop with randomly generated levels, item tables, and shuffling boss rosters, the game really offers so much for someone to get new to games excited about.

My wife never grew up with video games, where i was the opposite. we dated for about 3 years and one day she asked me about BOI. I showed her how to play it on my PC and the rest is history. i think she had clocked almost 1000hrs in the game. Now, she plays games more than I do! She bought an Xbox and plays whatever is on game pass. I am almost certain she is close to perfecting Hades.

A close second would maybe be the Aliens arcade shooter with the big ol guns you point at the screen!

i know what im trying to make this weekend!

I tend to use either almond or cashew.

Almond to me has a bit more nutty flavor whereas cashew is like a softer butter like flavor. Depending on what i’m making determines which i will choose.

for both of these loaves I used cashew butter.

funnily, i haven’t tried peanut butter. mainly because i feel the peanut flavor would be very strong. though i should try it some time as it tends to be a cheaper option compared to almond or cashew

I would really like to try something atypical like pistachio butter, but i have a feeling it would be quite spendy.

these are nut based. id love to use grains and whatnot but my body sadly does not like their company hehehe.

Certainly. This is a recipe from Erica Kerwien That I adjusted just a little.

Basic Bread: 3/4 cup of nut butter (whatever your preference) 4 eggs 3 tablespoons of honey 1/4 cup of blanched fine almond flour 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda

mix wet ingredients until smooth then add dry ingredients. mix until smooth and pour into a 3x7 bread pan. smooth the top and let it rest for a few minutes before placing it in the oven.

i used a standing mixer, but you could also do it by hand. i also used parchment paper to make it easier to get out of the pan.

Bake at 350F for 40min or until golden. test with a toothpick.

Blueberry Bread: 3/4 cashew butter 4 eggs 3 tablespoons of honey 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1/4 cup of coconut flour 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda 1 cup of blueberries

mix wet ingredients until smooth then add dry ingredients. mix in only half of your blueberries trying not to mash them up too much in the process. pour into a 3x7 pan and smooth the top. drop the remaining blueberries atop of the batter and press them slightly into the batter.

Bake at 350F for 50min test with a toothpick.

My changes to the original recipe was just adding more honey. Then for the blueberry bread i swapped out almond flour for coconut flour. i feel that coconut flour has a more softer flavor than almond flour.

Im not all that great at cooking/baking so any suggestions to improve is appreciated.

I lived in a smaller town when i was younger and we rented video games from the grocery store. I recall n64 games on one side of a display rack, and vegetables on the other.

Our household used to rent RUSH 2049, Vigilante 8, and Gauntlet often. Many fun weekends to be had!

it was a surprising pace of difficulty but really rewarding once you got patterns and behaviors down. compared to the original, i also felt 2 is less vague in its clues. I don’t think i could beat the first game without a guide, but in 2 it just takes awareness and you’re generally off on the right path.

I was recently released from the hospital for pancreatitis. I was stuck in for a week and a half. In that time I really got into Zelda II : The Adventure of Link. I always passed it up mainly to the perspective change and really no other reason. i got super addicted playing it in between blood tests, scans and sugarfree jello dinners. kept my mind preoccupied and away from stewing in my sadness.

I initially kicked myself for never playing it before, but i’m happy i didn’t because it was really refreshing to play and something i really needed in my time of need. It is now probably my favorite NES game, and a game that i will likely play through again.

i like the Phantasy Star 3 soundtrack. i had it on my record player for quite some time as it was the only music my newborn would fall asleep to.

(relatively new to having UC) I started my first prescription for UC and it ended up giving me pancreatitis and almost two weeks in the hospital 😬. I was released today.

While not necessarily the funnest experience, I am a bit less skiddish of needles.

Mentally it hit me hard. First time a new prescription didn’t work positively, first MRI, CT, etc…

Being back home is nice, but i am not really enjoying anything like I used to. though I’m optimistic that the feeling is temporary.
