plastic model kits. the focus of cutting out tiny parts is distracting and working on a kit doesn’t take more than an evening. Completing one makes me feel like i accomplished something on a day where i feel too cruddy to accomplish anything else. though some say plastic model kits can be addicting :P

i purchased a sega saturn about 6 months ago and aside from playing a few multiplayer rounds with friends, saturn is all i play now.

that being said, i’ve been playing Virtua Fighter and getting my ass kicked by the bots on normal. been at it for a few weeks. ( i stink at fighting games ) but i managed to beat all of the characters with the exception of Dural. i got to see the end credits so i count it a victory.

moving onto Virtua Fighter 2 this upcoming week

a browser extension i use for a cursory check is ‘WAVE evaluation tool’. which examines your webpage and reviews your structure, tags, color contrast etc. Like what you posted in your own response, you can always just learn to use a screen reader. i use NVDA and it didn’t really take all that long to learn how to use it. you will certainly gain a new perspective if you do.

hope this helps!

apologies on redundant sharing. the previous comments were not loaded for me.

My household has stopped most streaming services and went back to physical media. Aside from getting up to change disks, we haven't missed much. Plus finding used media is a fun hobby now. This may sound dumb but the task of getting up to swap a disk has helped me from just sitting all day watching . I feel like I get a bit more chores done. Still would like to set up a good media server though

Oh i am very aware that you are 100% correct in both areas of efficiency and value!

However, I just really like the activity of searching for them at garage sales, flea markets, estate sales, used media stores, etc. if it takes me a while, so be it. ill just rewatch what i already have.

dvd and bluray are so goshdarn cheap that my wife and I thought to just buy everything we like watching physically. yeah we still have to rent new things every so often, but we generally just watch completed series or older movies.

we did an activity called ‘the vault’ where we identified ~800 movies/series that we could just live with forever. Now that the list was made its been the fun casual game of hunting for the best deal.

for instance, we like horror and we found all Blu-rays of the nightmare on elm street for like $15, all Halloween movies for ~$30, original star trek complete series $25.

I am predicting that our 800 works will cost somewhere around $2000? i winced at seeing that price, but spreading it over a few years of searching (we like trying to find our copies at local used stores) i think it isn’t too bad! plus its another activity for me and my wife to do.

Simply realizing that “wow we should just buy the stuff we watch on repeat” has been good for the monthly expenses. yeah we miss out on some exclusive stuff, but honestly there is just so much good shit out there from the past. i can certainly wait for that exclusive stuff to go on sale or finish up its finale so i can resub for a month to binge it.

certainly not laying out all the pros and cons of doing it, but i think the adventure of rediscovering physical media again has been showing is more pros than cons.

The post shows more devotion than many relationships found in my family tree.

Champions of Norrath on PS2. I played through the entire game with my dad and it was the most fun I ever him.my mother said he used to play video games all the time, but then stopped (having kids probably does this to many). So when he said he’d play the game with me i was very excited. i only wish i could have found the games sequel, return to arms, before heading off to college. that would have been a summer to remember.

i don’t know why he never shared his love of video games with either me or my sisters. some dads are weird like that. i bought him a series s for the holidays and while i don’t think he plays it, he enjoys watching his grandkids play.
