When I buy a laptop it always comes with windows. I always play with it a day or two. Install Linux and that's it. Have used osx or macOS a few times, but it's not my thing.

Anyway software I use (that probably also works with macOS).

Meld (tools to compare 2 text files)
Firefox (still the best open source browser)
VLC (video player)
Filezilla (ftp client)
Audacity (audio editor)
Franz (chat client for lots of services)

If you have been using an adblocker for years and turn it off for a moment, you really see how fucking bad it has become. It's almost like a dystopian movie.

Thanks I have been using Manjaro for a few years now and like it, but didn't know about those issues. Like how aur scripts are not checked. Maybe it's time to switch around again.

The only reason I switched from Mint to Manjaro was that my new laptops video card wasn't supported (like mint wouldn't boot). But that was a few years ago, so it's probably not an issue anymore.

I used to like Ubuntu but hated Unity and hate snap.

At first I thought it was maybe a config error to block bots. But after some testing I see that the 403 is only given when the word "kbinbot" is in the user agent. String that just return the normal response I tested are "testbot", "kbinbo", "binbot".

I have been working in software development for 2 decades. I'm saying that to make the point that I'm in the more technical group of internet users.

Anyway even I just jumped ship from Twitter to mastodont without really understanding how it worked.

So I'm pretty sure lots of users just signed up with the first server they found and slowly realized it wasn't just a Twitter clone.

Now that I do understand it I really love the concept, but it's definitely different than just Twitter.

For example I use two accounts on different servers with very different content. Personally I really like that separation.

Nice must be better than my book about black holes, that one kind of sucked.

I am going to judge a lot of them for driving like assholes. There's a reason people call them Tasshole.

At least where I live Tesla is a good option for overpaid office guys, the guys that used to drive a BMW or Audi. Lots of Tesla drivers that are impatient, aggressive and just annoying on the road.

I never really liked the AMA's it was usually just a bunch of PR filtered BS. The only ones that where interesting where the ones that went completely off the rails.

Celebs these days understand that you need to hire some PR people to do an AMA
