SF-UR, K-DST (GTA SA), SoulwaxFM and LSUR (GTA 5) will always be my go to ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Webkit is an incredibly complex and rich engine for rendering web content. That kind of content comes in so many uncountable varieties that still need to work correctly. Easy example, this is equivalent:

<b><i>test</i></b>

<b><i>test</i></b> (imagine the last I and b being switched, Lemmy won't let me do it)

Even though it shouldn't but there's enough idiots doing this so the browser supports it.

Now imagine, on top of that there's also a huge engine interpreting runnable code (Javascript). Any runnable code is inherently unsafe so it has to be sandboxed. That's where the vulnerabilities come into play. There are so many ways to break a sandbox and it's impossible to 100% find every single one.

Regarding experimental Features: These are for developers to verify their stuff works with upcoming features. If you don't want that, just don't use that. That simple.

I still have it from time to time that Windows has to install a driver for something benign like a thumb drive. Not always, though. And yes, the driver is fixed to the physical port. Using a different port reinstalls the same driver again.

Experienced this exact behavior on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Windows 11.

My data just serves as a counter point to the argument "new domains are always cheaper". Of course it depends on the domain and how greedy a particular NIC is to create a text file on a server.

Definitely not. Some examples (actual prices I pay for my various domains):

  • com: $18/y (gTLD)
  • net: $19/y (gTLD)
  • de: ~$5/y (ccTLD)
  • re: ~$5/y (ccTLD)
  • design: $49/y
  • tech: $55/y
  • blue: $23/y

My setup is extremely simple ๐Ÿ˜…

  • A Synology DS218play (5 years old at this point)
  • 2x6 TB Western Digital Red in RAID1
  • Plex package from plex.tv, installed through Synology Package Center
  • an Apple TV 4K as a client

Runs smooth up to 4K SDR but HDR is too much for it. Mainly using to watch recorded media.

My cat was diabetic. Had to give her insulin shots but she absolutely managed that extremely well. She understood it improves her condition and was happy to follow instructions. After leaving out the dry food she recovered and doesn't need insulin anymore. However, as a result of the diabetes she now can't process sugar or wheat at all. She'll vomit that right out. Luckily, the cheapest brands at the supermarket don't use either of those in their wet food, only the expensive brands. Go figure.

No you're correct. Android does run a JVM, just not Oracle's. That has always been the case. Back in the day it was Dalvik, nowadays it's ART.

Finally some sane voice. People don't seem to think 2cm in front of their nose.

Anything that is Facebook/Meta is in its own container for me. That way they can "track" as much as they want, they won't see new or even accurate Info.

Just like with Threads, this is post number 2920 saying the exact same thing over and over again and bitching about someone having fun. I really hate these coordinated attacks here.

Not to discredit your experience but I don't find long pressing the image (or whatever other content), then pressing share and whatever app you want to share with hard to find or remember.
