I didn't even realize chess had separated mens/womens events. I figured maybe a U18 and an open tournament. Is this par for normal? Or do most grandmasters etc compete at open tournaments?

Thank you for the nostalgia blast.
I do remember loving odwalla, specifically the carrot juice. But this was more than a decade ago, when I was still in high school.
Never remember them rebranding as naked juice. Although I do remember picking up naked juice on two separate occasions wondering how the taste would be. Two times was enough to learn the taste wasn't worth the price.
Wanted to add my perspective. Decided to splurge and get the z fold 5 after rocking the OnePlus 7 pro for 4+ years now. Wouldn't have upgraded except I cracked the shit out of my OnePlus recently and repairing/replacing just wasn't worth it.
After using this phone for a couple days, I have having serious thoughts about returning it. Spent so much time customizing the keyboard for the main screen, but just couldn't find a comfortable typing experience. Then I realized I hadn't installed GBoard yet. As soon as it was loaded, I was off to the races. No customization required. Very comfortable typing experience now with the default settings.
Cheese pizza, pan crust, jalapenos, extra cheese, well done.
Was delicious and they actually baked it extra for once, even tho I ask for it ever time.
Damn dude...
It's pizza day for me today! About to go pick it up right now actually. Stay strong 💪 thru the wait!!
Yes it has, this meme is not necessarily with the times
Edit: or at least, a tiny bit dated. Although I've written and deployed express servers... Haven't yet encountered any enterprise level back-end architecture written in JavaScript.
Usually in C# or Java.
I did read the article...
You should probably try to engage in discussion rather than put down a different viewpoint.
Edit: just for clarity I'll mention how the entire first half of the article was about his conversation with his friend and how hopeless and lonely the author felt about the knowledge of the impending doom of civilization. His friend wasn't ready to accept it
That is what my comment is referring to.
You make it sound like that's a bad thing.
I get what you're trying to say... Faith and/or blind idolatry in anything is bad!! But imo, faith in the scientific process, at least, isn't the worst outcome
The thing is, yes it may happen.
But neither you or I know when or how things will begin to south. All we can really do is live our lives and love our loved ones.
We're all gonna die eventually. Hopefully in many years due to old age. I currently don't make enough to start doomsday prepping.
I'm not trying to be a defeatist here, but there comes a point when worrying about a possible eventual collapse is not worth it. And I'm not sure doomsday prepping is the answer. But goddamn do I hope to own a piece of land one day in a fairly rural area with a fully off-the-grid existence and subsistence off the land.
That's the retirement idea for me.
It's a little bit I want to remove ads, it's much more I want to support the dev
Just depends on what lighting your brain perceives it. I see it as black and blue so clearly in the thumbnail.
When opening up the full image, it's white-and-gole. Light properties and additive/subtractive colors be wilding.
