Turning off auto updates on chrome was convoluted. I assume everything will break when they force this update even with auto updates off.

There should be an option to use a local account. I think the text is small and borderline hidden.
edit: Looks like this is only for Windows 10 and older. I did find that if you type [email protected] and fake as your password on the MS account it will say there was a problem and let you proceed without an account.

Have you tried boxer briefs? It's the best of both worlds. There really aren't that many different options, just try a few more and see how you feel.
Try different brands as well, they all feel different. In addition to different brands, they each have different sub types based on what material used.
That sounds like they are purposely making getting paid too much work. I'm sure they get out of paying for at least some of people's work based on what you're saying.
