Very cute! nice work
Any example images? Curious to know what this produces.
tl;dr I would have been delighted if I'd started with the Prusa Mini!
I started with a (very cheap and cheerful) EasyThreed... then jumped all the way up to the top of the consumer space with the Bambu X1... but... then I bought a Prusa Mini as well!
Every single one of your bulletpoints are exactly what drove my decision to buy into Prusa. I bought the self-assembly model which is a bit cheaper than the semi-assembled one, and I have to say that the experience of building the printer was a delight - it is clear as one goes through the instructions, the level of knowledge and quality that is behind the kit and the printer and the Prusa team.
Now - I have to tell you that my daily driver is the Bambu, but as I mentioned, it is at the top end of the more consumer price scale. My favourite printer in the set is the Prusa Mini! I've printed a bunch of add-ons to the frame to improve the utility (tool holders and such), and it is a lot more fun and interesting to use and play with. I chatted with the Prusa folks at the TCT 3Sixty event in the UK a couple of weeks back and honestly said, "Thank You" - the experience of using their machine is brilliant.
This is lots of fun!
Mine arrived this week... now I just need to find time to solder it all up...
tl;dr the Fediverse is not great at UX of the cross-instance stuff, yet.
There's a browser extension to make cross-instance user following simpler on Mastodon (Graze); that means you can just click to follow a user from your home instance, on any Mastodon instance. I think the same concept could be modified to apply to subscribing to Lemmy communities between instances.
I think this is more of a general Lemmy issue than something specific to Lemmy.world, but I agree with your point that this should be easier!
this is the best :-)
Thanks for setting this up! I tend to hang out in the Kingston / Wimbledon corner of the metropolis. Nice to see some Lemmyverse action for Londoners :-)
Currently playing Boltgun, because I’m an ageing W40K fan from the 1980s :-)
Works for me (now - I had been trying to login via email rather than username, which caused a weird success but then error message)
cute, though! I have not printed Lucky 13 Mini yet, only the full version. This looks a lot more simple.
self-hosted catalog so kind of in between the two, but more the latter. It is very nice though!
