A moment of gratitude for @imdavidpierce - The Verge's editor-at-large - for his coverage of the #Fediverse.

While most other tech publications and reporters ignore it, David has been a great champion of it.

🌞 Notes from my first day on a new #Friendica instance ✨

This morning I switched Friendica instances and WOW what a difference I am already noticing!

I'm not going to badmouth my old instance but I had found it to be slow and not federating correctly with other projects.

For example, I could not find my #Lemmy or #Mbin accounts while searching in its directory... it seemed that communication with Fediverse content aggregators was broken.

My new instance poliverso.org simply ROCKS! 🇮🇹 🚀

"This is Friendica, version 2024.08 that is running at the web location https://friendica.opensocial.space. The database version is 1571/1571, the post update version is 1550/1550."

📦 It's a (virtual) moving day for me 🚚

I'm moving to a new #Friendica instance and thus trying out #Fediverse account migration for the first time. I'll keep you posted on how it goes 🤗

Following some of your testimonies, I'm semi-tempted to create new accounts on #Friendica and #Lemmy – on other instances – to do more interoperability tests, considering that some of the problems I may have encountered could be instance-specific (with nothing to do with software). Is this something that may interest you?

Communication between Friendica and Mbin (mentions) doesn’t work at all. And I’m finding some strange bugs when it comes to federation of Mbin comments that mention Lemmy.world accounts (some show up, others don’t).

But the communication between Mbin and Mastodon is EXCELLENT ✨🏆✨

@kenkenken I totally agree with you, the term "Threadiverse" makes me cringe because of the Meta connection... but it's what people have been calling content aggregation projects on the Fediverse. I didn't come up with it 🤷‍♀️

Really liking #Mbin so far and happy about its interoperability
