It's pretty clear he's had a hand in the ~~Canyonero~~ Cybertruck, and with Xitter's strategy - they're going great, right?

...Oh

...ohhhh nonono.

If the July 19th Crowdstrike incident had affected Linux rather than Windows, the impact would have been orders of magnitude worse.

People have so little awareness of how fragile the systems we rely on are - it's not a matter of "if" - it's a matter of "when" we'll see a widespread incident that goes well beyond a mild inconvenience for most.

By doing things like supporting the rise of one of their assets to the presidency?

Oh

You've explained the mentality - people don't particularly care to know.

Why would people put in the effort to solve a problem they're barely aware of, and don't understand - particularly if putting the effort in to understand and address won't even solve that problem? If you want to add problems to people's lives, you need to tone it all the way down.

Don't get me wrong though - you're fighting the good fight - and meeting people where they're at helps, so I guess this is a decent place to start.

Oh don't worry - Mega-genius Elon Musk will massively expand the space force with his brilliant, bargain basement equipment, so I expect they'll finally get around to doing something about those pesky Jewish space lasers. Exercising military control over space is good for security and stability. Everything is great.

I'm not sure I could imagine a more catastrophically stupid timeline.

More fun still - prions.

Your autoclave won't help you now, kids.

If the church is unwilling to help locally, you could try appealing to their regional leadership (though this is unlikely to work). From there, your next steps fall into 2 boxes:

Management Double-glazing, earplugs, white noise, etc.

Fighting back Rallying sympathetic neighbours sounds as though it's not an option, so to start with, you should familiarise yourself with any relevant ordinances - if you need professional legal advice, consider bringing your sympathetic neighbour in on it and split costs. Trolling - the Satanic Temple (not the church of Satan as others have recommended) or the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster are your best bet on getting pseudo-legitimacy, and may have intervened in similar situations. Sabotage - cutting cables is cheap and fun - audio, data, power - who knows what cable does what, but trial and error is an option - bonus points for attracting rodents and and outsourcing the job to them. If you want to get creative, a HERF gun may be a viable option. Pamphlet drops to the congregation with something along the lines of "love thy neighbour - with 120db bells at x, y, z times" - don't do this if you're making less ethical moves - you'll paint an obvious target on your back. If you can get access to the audio console, your effective options open right up - but this probably involves breaking and entering, so that's probably more inadvisable than the rest of my advice.

  1. Russia has torn up every agreement it's been party to.

  2. Russia's preconditions for a diplomatic negotiation is Ukraine's total surrender (in the context of an invasion).

  3. Russia is in no way entitled to attempt to forcefully annex Ukrainian territory.

  4. Russia is in no way entitled to dictate what explicitly defensive strategic alliances its neighbours enter into.

With those simple facts in mind...

countless lives are being lost, and the suffering continues.

If the Ukrainians wish to resist (and they clearly do), that's their prerogative. It's strategically and morally correct for the US to help them resist.

The United States stands to benefit the longer this conflict persists

Correct - but that's an argument to continue to offer support not stop it.

(...)showing little interest in pursuing a path to peace.

By surrendering on Ukraine's behalf to get to the negotiation table to draw up another agreement that will inevitably be torn up? By stopping support and throwing to the bears? What would this look like to you?

While it positions itself as Ukraine's ally

By providing military support like an ally.

it simultaneously sends Ukraine into a prolonged struggle against a vastly larger adversary.

The US isn't sending Ukraine to war - it's giving Ukraine the means to defend itself from a war that's being waged on them - which it's doing.

This war arguably began in 2008, when NATO promised eventual membership to Ukraine and Georgia but failed to follow through.

2008? Wasn't that when Russia invaded Georgia? There's a pattern here... Refer to point 4 - what right does Russia have to invade a neighbor for entering an explicitly and historically defensive alliance? How did NATO start the war, exactly? They should have followed through, but that's beside the point.

Now, NATO appears to be watching from the sidelines as Ukraine fights on its behalf at the front lines.

...don't forget that Russia's aggression is driving more countries to join for obvious reasons. Intervention in this context isn't expected of/by NATO - it's a defensive alliance, and Ukraine isn't a member state - it's beyond their mandate. Such an intervention would be painted as reaching beyond a defensive posture, justifying a lot of Russia's nonsense, and arguably hostility, making it a questionable move that I'm not going to browbeat them for. In short, it would be diplomatically catastrophic.

First rule of fascism - rules, laws, traditions and norms exist for 2 reasons:

  1. Protect the in-group (the fascists)

  2. Subjugate the out group (literally everyone else)

It's like playing poker with a toddler - the rules are irrelevant - it's just "I win"

The Clinton administration demonstrated strong diplomatic capabilities in 1994.

You mean when Clinton negotiated with Yeltsin (not super-relevant) to not target strategic missiles at one another (not verifiable, and reversible in moments)?

Regarding recent geopolitical tensions, it raises important questions, such as why Russia is engaging in conflicts with smaller neighboring countries.

To grab resources, restore the Russian empires old borders on line with long-standing doctrine, and to distract from domestic issues that would threaten Putin's interests.

There have been allegations over the years that Ukraine has siphoned gas or oil from these pipelines, contributing to longstanding disputes.

Credible allegations? This isn't super-hard to verify, and even if it were true, it's no reason to annex Ukraine.

I've considered multiple perspectives, and like a reasonable person, discarded the invalid ones rather than treating flagrantly dishonest propaganda and baseless speculation/fantasy as important considerations that need to be accommodated.
