I think this says more about you and your mindset. When I was a kid and the internet was a big new thing, I was blown away that I could play chess with someone from Poland, or Venezuela, or India. I did nothing but explore as a kid on the internet. I know this feeling you're talking about because I get it now in middle age quite a bit. This feeling of bored. Why go on vacation and spend all this money, I know what a beach is, there's nothing novel. Even visiting monuments or going to concerts. Eh the music sounds better on my stereo anyways. For a revelation like this to actually be... not boring, I think access and curiosity need to be strong. If they are individuals like us and we can communicate, wouldn't you want to talk to them? Ask them how they think? What their history is? Someone else mentioned in this thread, and I think it's likely, that they would be so different thatcommunication or common ground like this is probably not likely. But I don't think it makes it boring, just different. Even to be able to talk to another species and communicate complex ideas would be mind blowing. Honestly, I think the vast majority of people would take your stance, and actually, technically already do. There are other species on this planet like dolphins and whales that regularly talk to each other. They have names and make sentences. The fact that humanity largely doesn't care, and proceeds stomping on them and their habitats makes me think that the ridiculous unobtainium plot line from avatar is actually more likely than I think it is. In my mind, life and intelligence is rarer than any mineral we could ever use, but we don't recognize its value. It's fucking sad. We're all on this rollercoaster called life for a short time. I'd rather talk to dolphins than wear shiny golden Prada bags.๐

Most people dont know this, but the King James translation loses the actual meaning. The complete passage is "turn their other cheek into a deep frier."
Was this video produced by PragerU or something? Video is clearly slanted hard in favor of Capitalism. The way it portrays Socialism is not how any modern Socialists would want it implemented either. When the State begins owning and directing capital I think that's closer to Communism. Where private ownership disappears. I'm in favor of Democratic Socialism, which keeps private companies in tact, but ownership and the profits flow towards the workers of that company, since they are owners. Problem with Capitalism is that all profits flow upwards and are not equitably shared with workers. When you have companies like Walmart that teach their employees how to apply for food stamps, but Walmart owners are in the billionaire class, that is the government subsidizing the 1%. They have the money to fairly compensate the working class for their efforts but chose not to. Fuck them. Voting Socialist every chance I get.
So it's been years since I've seen it, but I do remember that episode. I went through the wiki a bit and read up on some of Backster's experiments and how they were received by the scientific community... not great. It is a very intriguing subject, but I think it gets anthropomorphized pretty bad. Even the title here, "plants do scream" almost implies consciousness. I do think there are mechanisms that plants may have evolved that we don't fully understand. Like holding onto water or nutrients if there are more plant clicks (screams) happening nearby. But we have to be scientific about this. In the article, they talk about possible sources of the clicks possibly being air bubbles escaping the plant. Jumping to some of the conclusions that were explored in the past like "plants have ESP" are tall claims. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Claims like that were never reproducible, so we shouldn't believe them. I think plants are amazing, and we should keep studying stuff like this, but best to stay realistic and phrase these findings appropriately. Just my two cents.
Oooo I have been saying lately that we don't have enough crypto on the market. Did they add the phrase AI anywhere in there too?

Internet says Endeavor Group Holdings owns UFC, no mention of Twitter on their wiki though. They just buy it or something? Also why'd you post this in videos?
Bro probly ate a handful and blasted off. Had a rough trip at first, then calmed down and the shrooms taught him that shrooms and tripping aren't the answer to life. So he travels from thread to thread spreading the insights, trying to enlighten his fellow brethren. I've met a few like him. Noble, although I think I have more to learn from the colored void myself.
That... or he's still stuck in the DARE dredge cast in the 80's. Lulz

I hear you, I don't mean to accuse or project anything on you. It is a valid question. But boredom by its very definition is something to do about our internal state and feelings, and not about the external object (or sentient race) in question. To some extent, we decide whether or not to be bored with something. A rock outside my house appears boring, but that is my lack of creativity. Maybe it is useful as a firepit stone, maybe I can split it open and there is a fossil inside, maybe I can study it and find out what type it is, maybe I can gather enough a make a pulley system to the roof. But boredom is a decision.
