Some people don’t own cars with all that Bluetooth bullshit, or just prefer to use the jack since it is lossless audio.

I really hate that cars seem to drop a built in music solution in favor of smartphones. Give me a good radio and a cd player or sdcard slot over any smartphone connectivity and I'm happy.

Ask the customers what they want, it’s that easy.

Don't forget though, that the typical customer may be very different from the bubble on this site.

blind loyalty

Maybe for some people. There is however a strong momentum to just keep using what you are used to, and Apple has done a great job in that regard. Stuff just works and it keeps working mostly the same and even switching to a new device is almost effortless. Plus their design guidelines for apps is providing a pretty consistent user experience, zero tinkering required. Which is what a lot of people like.

apples done those things and we said the same thing about those moves. And now look at em.

True, however a lot of people really don't care about that stuff which somehow often gets overlooked here and on reddit.

It kinda is. Windows 11 won't run on older hardware and end of life of the latest version of Win 10 is coming up in 2 years or so. And a bunch of PCs weren't really ready for Win 10 when that replaced Win 7/8 and again, support for those dropped at some point.

Lifetimes are usually more lenient with PCs, but it still happens. You can switch to Linux of course, but then there are alternatives for many smartphones as well.

Some are, and yet they still have better visibility and lower center of gravity and fuel economy etc.

Trucks seem to be optimized for niche use but somehow managed to end up being the default for all kinds of uses where other vehicles would be better.

It probably would be in the US, but laws and regulations are different in Europe. The US favors huge heavy towing vehicles and higher tongue weights to allow for higher speeds, Europe limits speeds and allows for normal cars and more balanced trailers. We also have lower speed limits for semi-trailers and similar vehicles, so they fit right in.

Yeah, a lot of laws seem to favor trucks in the US. The vehicles aren't different, the laws and regulations are.

I know the car we used to pull our camper back in the early 80ies (Alfa Sud) had different towing limits for trailers with and without brakes. No idea about general limits for trailers, but if your car has those limits you better not be caught exceeding those.

In the US, in Europe trailers are much more balanced however the speed limit for trailers is lower.

Probably a result of how legislation is designed for different towing strategies. From what I've seen, the US favors trailers with higher hitch weight and axles further back, requiring more substantial and heavy towing vehicles, but allowing for higher speeds. In Europe, trailers are more balanced with hitch weights in the 100-150lbs range, but speed limits are lower (50ish mph).

How steep of a downhill and how fast are you going? Gravity will pull depending on the angle of the hill, wind resistance increases with the square of your speed. There will always be a speed where the force pulling you down/forwards will be the same as the force slowing you down due to wind resistance. If you go slower, your car will speed up towards that speed, if you are already faster, it will naturally slow down with no input from the engine or your brakes.
