Thanks. I applied to dbzero because they seem alright and I like that they are a safe harbor for discussing piracy (pun intended).

Aight, guess I'll start looking for a better instance

I only ever bought RDR2 from them, which is still bringing me a lot of enjoyment, and after seeing how they squandered RDR online for the heinous crime of not printing money fast enough, I don't think I'll be buying anything from them for the foreseeable future.

Idk, I would not ruin a man's life over the similarities. But then again I am quite terrible at telling faces apart

Never seen a soup spoon like that in Europe. Everyone has a variant of these though

Good to know. I definitely had some minor auditory hallucinations or spasms come and go depending on how badly I managed my sleep schedule and I never really thought about that. I think the tinnitus is mostly actual physical damages because I wanted to rawdog some metal concerts when I was younger though.

Turns out it's possible to have books in schools that contain language that is inappropriate for a classroom. Any decent teacher would still allow you to discuss the book, but that doesn't mean said language is ok outside of that context, and children are smart enough to make that difference if we allow and teach them to.

This checks out. I think the most recent "original" movie I watched was The Color Out of Space. Not in theater though.

Probably younger and/or poorer people who can't casually drop hundreds of dollars on games every few months and end up swimming in Steam points like I do. Also they probably care a lot more about the stuff steam points can buy, I know I would have when I was younger.

Conversely, lack of proper management is also an issue on a lot of videogames projects. Probably has never happened at Ubisoft but I've seen it firsthand in small studios

Hi, I'm looking for a way to record voicemails that my recently deceased grandfather sent to my grandmother. Visual voicemail is setup but it does not show the messages, so I can't just save them by sharing them with my phone. Also her SIM is not "nano" format so I can't use it in my fairphone 4 to record it from there

If anyone can recommend a play store app that is not a privacy nightmare, or a way to install f droid on her phone, that would be lovely (even after enabling apks it couldn't open the f-droid apk, I assume because the API on her phone is too outdated)

Edit : nevermind, I remembered that her phone carrier has a web interface with the option to download the messages as a .mp3 file. Thanks to everyone for your replies, recording through jack was also a good idea but it completely went over my head after years of using a phone with no jack

Hi, I recently installed pop!_os on my shiny new gaming desktop and I'm loving it so far. But I'm now trying to get some games to work (mostly Helldivers 2 right now, which does work after a fresh install, but then freezes on a blackscreen with all subsequent launches. I'm assuming this is due to that awful kernel level anti cheat somehow)

Long story short, according to the fine folks over at protonDB, gamescope can help. But I can't find it on the pop shop or with apt-get. If anyone can point me to some trusted PPA I can use, or the dependencies I need to build it from source, that would be very appreciated (or even, just how to find out what dependencies I am missing. I lost my linux-fu after a long period of using Windows exclusively but I'm not a complete noob)

Additional infos : I used the Nvidia installer, 550 drivers (I have the RTX 3080 Ti), have the Nvidia drm modeset enabled, and I'm using the pop_os Steam package. ~~I also enabled "force full composition pipeline" in Nvidia settings~~ actually I just disabled it because it was causing issues with some other games that were running fine without it
