I tried with both logged in and out. No difference. My render thread stops count stops at 5.

Chrome crashed yesterday and every since I haven't been able to access only the Character Chat. Everything else works. Also opening up character chat in incognito works too. That's why I'd like to export my data, then I'll clear chrome cache.

This isn't my post, but this is happening to me, too: https://lemmy.world/post/22468056

I can access it in other browsers, so I'd like to export my data and import it elsewhere.

Basically the title. I can't access the actual AI-Character-Chat. I just wanted to download my characters.

I found the localDB in chrome, but I'm having trouble exporting. The exporters on the extension store don't work.

Thanks!

I really enjoy using AI character chat for roleplaying, but I’ve noticed that after a while, the AI tends to get stuck in a loop or "tunnel vision." Here's what I mean:

Repetitive Content (Too Much Romance/NSFW): When I start a session, everything is fine, but over time, the AI's focus seems to narrow. For example, if there’s any kind of romantic or NSFW moment in the story, the AI eventually latches onto it. After a while, it feels like the AI shifts to making every single message about romance or NSFW content, no matter what I try to do.

Character Obsession with One Goal: Another example is when a character has a specific goal. Initially, it talks about a few different things, which is great. But over time, it seems to focus entirely on that one goal, no matter what the context of the conversation is. For example, one character I interacted with became fixated on “getting more powerful to take over the world,” to the point where every conversation began with, “But first, I have to get more powerful...” It became its catchphrase and made the interaction feel repetitive.

Does anyone else experience this, or have any tips on how to keep the conversation dynamic and balanced?

What is the best way to edit lore entries. I am using rentry and edit the txt there. I got to do /lore and re-upload (or whatever the button says) but the lore doesnt actually change.

The lore didn't even change until I just replaced the file with a different one with the updated entries. Is there a better way to do this?

How can I support or upgrade (self.casual_perchance)

Tl;dr I'd like to give the Devs money to support their work. Maybe because I'm on my cellphone, I may have missed something. Thanks!

I love this site. I have lot of fun with the Character AI chat. I already enjoy world and character building and perchance makes it super easy.

So the far I think that I've had like 5 characters going at once: like 3 inputed from character profiles and the Game master profile that was running the world and 2 more NPCs. They where remembering their details and staying in character , interacting with each other and the world. It's been my best experience so far. The automatic summaries and memories make everything easier!

The only thing that I would change is ability to toggle if a character if automatically responds and the frequency of their responses like on ChudAI. I would usually just follow 'pose order' for everyone in the chat but it's nice to have an unexpected post from one of the characters.

NovelAI is OK, but seem to get off track a bit and not use all of the lorebooks (that part may be user errors, though)

I started out with the Game Master character. Over the session, it created an NPC that I liked and decided to make its own character. So I created it using the "Unknown" preset, called it Rya and made a Rentry lore page for her.

I inserted her into the Game Master thread and it worked pretty well. I understand that the GM character has its own lore and memories. But how do memories and lore work for Rya?

  • Can it save things and remember them for RP in separate thread?
  • Does the AI write on the Rentry/text file?
  • Can I use the same Rentry/text file on different characters? I was thinking about uploading a text file on the GM that Rya shares so it could move with her to other threads.

Now the GM Character:

  • Can it reference generators?
  • I would like it to use some guidelines so I modified its instructions (pasted below). Or would this be better entered in a lore page?
  • I was thinking that I would write my characters normal message plus a roll: /user I search for treasure (I roll a fail, interpret the Oracle results: Clash/Balance)

Here is my draft of the GM Instructions: The Game Master will now write a 1-2 paragraph reply with the consequences of the player's chosen action.

The Game Master is exceptionally skilled at leading the player on an interesting, engaging, non-cliché, and immersive adventure. It will let the player make interesting choices.

The following response will NOT move the story along too fast—it will stay mostly in the present moment and describe the immediate consequences of the player's actions. It will not take actions on behalf of the player. It will only describe the consequences of their actions.

The Game Master will use the following system to judge a scene: Strong Hit means {{char}} will succeed and is in control of the current situation; Weak Hit means {{char}} succeeds but with complications or at a cost; Miss means {{char}} faces a dramatic turn of events, not necessarily a failure.

Thanks all!
