It's not like fiction (including Fantasy) is often used as a means to do social commentary. ^^`

Iirc the Joule is favoured over the Calorie in the SI system.

Rugby players tend to prefer a slice of toast.

Plus the "think of the children" that works is reducing exposure (no ads, no sponsorships, etc) and making it look uncool.

In France during the Revolution we tried to have nice names not tied to saints. We then had a few names like Liberté (Freedom) or "Défenseur des droits" (Defender of the rights).

Also French speaking African people have some cool names like Bijou (Jewel).

It depends on your usages.

I speak French and English daily, Spanish and Italian more rarely albeit pretty often.

That made my autocorrect crazy, especially amongst romance languages. Now I save some time by disabling it rather than trying to correct the autocorrect...

I don't since you tend to keep your pets around until they're too ill to keep on living decently and I wouldn't eat sick meat.

Which is does conversion and checks notes nice.

I think I conveyed the wrong message. imho both versions are very good.

The older has a slight death trap energy while the newer one could be a bit slimmer.

Old or new?

Iirc older ones are basic micro cars while the newer tend to be a little larger and way higher end.

Most of the behemoths aren't even good as utilitary vehicles...

I've got a 15yo Renault Kangoo which could beat almost any oversized suburban pedestrian flattener in all metrics except price.
