The first link isn't working for me - can't tell if it's Lemmy bugging out still or what. Just wanted to let you know because I'm very curious about what happened!

Make sure you have a language selected, that's been catching up a lot of people. Otherwise my best guess is it might just be bogged down by new users and other people creating new communities.
Lol this must be why I'm getting so many errors and rate limits. Welcome to the club y'all!
the math checks out, imo
Out of time but good to know there's totally changes on the horizon /s
Seconding this, some updates and changes seem a bit slow to follow through even when they're confirmed to have saved. OP I wouldn't worry yet, hopefully things will sort themselves out given some time.
A sub "the tenth dentist" (I forget the specific name) had a system where if you agreed with it you down vote, whereas if you disagree you upvote. I think it made moderation probably kind of tricky (they also had a way to flag things as hugely improbable/karma farming) but it at least kept the spirit of truly unpopular opinions at the forefront.
Ahh right sorry, I should have posted this instead to OnlyBuns!
The app I've been using (connect) has a manual filter via keywords, which might be along the lines of what you're looking for. I'm not sure if there's anything native that does it (yet) though.
Same here. Even subs (instances? communities? still figuring out the lingo, sorry) are so quiet I'm even posting actual posts. Or on news posts, I have a question about the content where on reddit someone will have already asked and I can just see what responses or vitriol they got.
Is there a reason discord is also being devalued? I haven't heard of anything negative going on there and they seem to be doing fine.
I've seen so many five-star reviews before a book is published of "I love this author can't wait for this book to come out!" on there. I've also had enough times where I despise a book and goodreads loves it or vice versa that I just can't trust the reviews.
