I completely agree, but would you rather your tombstone said something about your accomplishments in life, or something seriously awesome like "impaled through the chest by a fucking swordfish"

I learned most of what I know from watching YouTube videos. There are a lot of great channels that cater to beginners. For a start I would recommend greenwood bonsai, heron's bonsai, Eastern leaf, and bonsai tree :-)
Interestingly the trees can switch foliage type depending on conditions. Often after heavy pruning or drought they will revert to juvenile type foliage. This can make it very difficult to prepare a tree for bonsai shows.
