I think that's a step too far. The average diet is probably more processed than in other nations but plenty of us choose to eat healthy fresh foods. I go to the local farmers market weekly.

I think the Chinese businessmen are exploiting slave laborers to produce cheap goods and export them to most of the world. Would you call that a mutually beneficial relationship?

Oh I see, so Southern plantation owners just have to run individual prisons with open air detention centers for incarcerated individuals of color that happen to be lined with cotton plants and coincidentally they can sell that cotton for profit.

Yes that is basically what I'm doing, but it's not the best way. The smaller pieces tend to warp in the clamps and dry with a bow. I couldn't find a better way to set the purple heart where I wanted it. The preferred method for end grain is to glue and clamp the longer strips together, then chop and rotate the resulting rows and glue again.

Afterlife is an all inclusive term, not limited to heaven, hell, purgatory, null state and reincarnation, but thanks for your judgement.

Thank you, and no worries. I've seen the warnings, and I'm fully aware that my planer is garbage anyway lol

Thank you. I think the idea is that the knife blade passes between the fibers just deep enough until it gets wedged to stop the cut, instead of severing the fibers as in a face grain cutting board.

I am starting off the new year by using my discount second hand tools to try and cobble together a nice birthday present for my wife. Materials include water damaged maple, warped walnut, and spider-infested purple heart. Wish me luck.

This small red Japanese maple is barely hanging on to it's late fall foliage.

This tree has been 3 years in training and it's about 8 years old total. It was created from nursery stock intended as a landscape plant. I'd started by chopping it in half and then splitting the trunk with the help of a friend who taught me how to use raffia.

There is a lot more checking than I realized, and I'm afraid filling these gaps by just pouring in epoxy will be difficult. I want to keep the live edge and avoid making a complete deep pour epoxy mold. Some of these gaps go all the way through The 2-in slab. Any tips for me?
