But the superpower of ADHD is being Jack-of-all-Trades.

Specialists are valuable, but when they specialize themselves into a corner, a generalist can usually get them out.

Wow. I am the complete opposite. I jog daily and feel miserable October thru June (and sometimes July). But in heatwaves (when the daily high reaches 90s-100s F (20s - 40s C)) I actually start to enjoy exercising and sometimes even wish I could work out longer.

Then again, I usually work out in the morning. But I also enjoy workouts in high temps as well.

For once I agree. Then extinguish the right. Then we won't have opposing political parties and people can work together toward common goals.

I wear a kilt. It really is more comfortable than pants.

I actually remember seeing a blog post, too, showing a fashion line of skirts for men. Not for cross dressers either (but no judgement if that's you). It was marketed as a style that still made the men appear masculine. I forget the brand name, but I was intrigued.

I can see that. I can't say I despised it, but I was a little disappointed. What didn't you like?

For me, I thought Denis Villeneuve could have added more emotional weight to the story. Overall I liked the movie. If I see it in a DVD bin I'll probably pick it up, but I'm not going out of my way to watch Part 1 again.

I'm looking forward to it.

I admit I was a tad disappointed with the 1st Dune movie. It wasn't bad by any means, but I felt Denis Villeneuve didn't quit communicate Paul's plight enough, and, as much as I like Zendaya as an actress, I don't think she was the best choice for Chani.

Then again, I realize Dune is a difficult book to adapt to a movie.

But I've enjoyed other work by Denis Villenueuve so I'm suspecting Part 1 was just a setup for Part 2 and the 2 parts together make a satisfactory story.

The real question: why did we stop the tradition of designer weapons?

"Sir, I neutralized the threat with my sequin and diamond studded sniper rifle."

I tried this as a startup (sort of) years ago. A privacy-friendly alternative to Amazon with an aim to bolster small, local businesses. Built the entire thing...nobody was on board. 3 months of development! Wasted!

Actually, the idea is intriguing, because I first and foremost provide tech expertise to enterprise businesses, but I also write fiction and take pictures. I sometimes post my stories (seldomly) on my main "business" social media profiles. Polywork seems to be like, "Yeah, we know you do. It's safe to do that here." 😆

I think I did for a while. 99% of the time they ghosted. Most times they'd want to siphon me through a hazing ritual--sorry, I mean hiring process. I'm like, sorry dude, either hire me for a job or don't. So I think recruiters have kind of given up.

Don't hear much anymore. I think because I've also made my profile match more what a CEO or other higher up would find attractive (hopefully). Instead of "JavaScript expert" I put something like "I'll make sure your tech stack beats out the competition and wins!" or similar sentiment in my LinkedIn headline.

Those are typically the rules for unemployment/self-employment in the States. Since I haven't been "officially" employed for well over 5 years, this isn't the case for me. If work doesn't come in, it doesn't come in--I don't have the trappings that come with having a job.

For me I was talking about when each job has a "process." Step 1 is put in the job application. Not anymore (for me--if I had to fulfill a job app quota that would be another matter)! Step 1 would be initially contacting someone. Putting in the job app would just be for HR to make me official.
