Out of curiosity, will you be able to weed out bad faith volunteers? I am sure there are a variety of interests that would be more than willing to pay a junior admin to be a Lemmy Sysop and it’s not like the candidate will volunteer that information.

Shills, activists, trolls, state actors, and advertisers follow the eyeballs. They don’t give a crap if it is on the fediverse or some other platform.

If the fediverse capabilities can’t evolve to provide controls, then it’s doomed to failure. It’s already bad enough that bot accounts will create a new community then spam the crap out of it to appear on the “hot” view. Expect this to be turbocharged as the US enters another election cycle.

I’m not leaving Signal until someone implements keeping data at rest encrypted on both ends and requires multi factor unlock (bio+pin is my choice).

This just isn’t true. The vast majority of the movie is people talking in rooms. There is nothing really added by the big screen. I wish I had just waited to stream it.

I had a OnePlus 8 for about 5 hours before returning it. The curved/edge less screen may look cool in a showroom, but it sucks for actual use. Also, as a dedicated dark mode user, I couldn’t stand the two vertical glare bars where the screen curve started. Especially in office lighting.

Annual tradition. Get hype, watch the first drive or two. Turn it off because I realize I am deprived of good football, not just football.
