When VD is running, even if not running a game, it is streaming your desktop still.

Why? Without a connection to stream to it shouldn't be doing shit. Note, I am talking about the VD Streamer app that runs on the PC, not the actual VR application itself. If the PC is running and the headset isn't even turned on, the streamer is using a ton of system resources when it shouldn't be doing anything.

I've been waiting for this. Finally noticed the update today. Was going fine until I got a draw on the last fight in the first tournament thing and soft locked the game as it will not progress past the end result screen.

I think BG3 already has the highest rating available, so I don't think it'd be affected.

It can go one higher (AO). They wouldn't want it to tho.

I am playing the Steam version right now and I noticed that I have just 1 perpetually pissed off dwarf. Upon closer inspection, it's a child. Who is a sadist, always pissed off and stays away from the other children to get drunk all the time all because when he was, like, 3 years old he was almost mauled to death by a giant squirrel.

I didn't mean to imply it's not also concerning tech. I think it would fit in both spheres. Just commenting on the whole "stop making trans people political" notion, like the issue isn't and hasn't been political the entire time.

They're trying to make laws to hurt trans people, and it's a hot issue among the populace... That is the very definition of political.

When you're all done with your little pink panty meltdown, let me know... 'cause I'd like to get down to business.

Fully agree. Lots of jokes; they're not very funny, tho. IDK... Maybe it will get more interesting the further I get. I still wanna check out Neon (the cyberpunk city) and do deep space exploration (can't even get out there yet). I've been to a museum ran by the Starship Troopers faction that gives a ton of exposition on the lore and it was a chore to stay awake through all that.

With how many call backs, jokes and references I've seen in the main plot: it doesn't take itself too seriously. Half of the jokes have been directly related to the lack of dialogue options and having a silent protagonist.

I can get the sentiment about the combat being uninspired and a bit bland, and things being formulaic but... There is still something that draws me in. I really have no words for what it is, but somehow these games suck me in despite their problems and "boring" mechanics.

listening to radio DJ "I bet this dude is a super skinny white hipster with glasses."

Finds picture of DJ online; it's a black woman with the body of a female Adonis

"The fuck?"

I've seen a bunch of discussions around merging and migrating and who's gonna take on users here and there and I've come to the realization that it really doesn't matter in the end, does it? All the instances that are connected that share similar communities (or even communities of the same name and goal) just become one big thing.

Instances, so far as I have found messing with this the last day and a half, only really seem to differ in UI. As a general user, anyway, I don't see anyone boasting instance specific features that another instance does not have (though I'm sure that can change in time given the open source nature of the platform).

I'm just rolling everything up into one big pile to connect with and make more people lightly blow air out of their nose while they dick around at work. The more instances and communities, the merrier I am. 😋

And does it bother you seeing it often? Because I comment a lot and everywhere.

Just fair warning to the rest of the 'verse.

I understand how to code... To an extent. I know syntax and can solve problems given a set of tools (such as source code, functions, etc). I've made mods and basic programs (literally and figuratively), but I've never messed with internet stuff other than networking and mostly on the hardware side.

I don't expect to make anything that will catch on, but maybe I can make a perfectly adapted thing for my own personal use. Would it be a good learning experience, or would jumping from modding and making, like, a DnD character sheet generator into making a front end for a website/service be a bit of an undertaking?

I just wanted to find something using the Dewey Decibel system 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hope I'm not dinged for spamming; I'm just tryna to seed this community since it's taken but unused.

I rarely, if ever, upvoted/downvoted on Reddit. I was content with the Frontpage and Popular content so I didn't spend a lot of time in New except in smaller, slowing moving subs. Because of that, my votes wouldn't have mattered anyway, so I never clicked those arrows.

But here, where I'm not seeing many things with more than a couple hundred of votes I feel like my opinion matters more for shaping what shows first.

It's gonna take some getting used to...
