There is already a city like this. I don't recall the name, but the only real motorized vehicles they allow are ambulances.

My coworker reached out and asked about being a donation center and they oblige. Your workplace probably just stopped working with them. We still do them regularly and never really stopped during covid.

They're often just as bad.
I daily edge at work because I just wanted to and I like how it integrates with our domain. It's fine, but I did have to spend some time turning off weird things like price trackers or whatever it was.
I still use Firefox at home though.

It might have something to do with studios owning the rights to an actors likeness and voice and using them in perpetuity (and maybe even getting the actor to say and do new things with AI) with no compensation given to the actor. It was a big thing a few months ago but I can't remember what exactly it was about.

You're exactly right. I think the most expensive iPhones are maybe $1k USD and the cheapest are around $400 USD. Android phones range from basically free to nearly $2k. iPhone fans look at it as fragmentation (because it is) and Android fans look at it as freedom of choice (because it is).
