Incidentally (by coincidence) I registered on Mastodon yesterday evening, and I too felt like I had landed into an empty pit... Not sure why, by default everything is empty, and I tried adding interesting stuff to follow but somehow didn't find anything interesting

Rebooting my computer? Yes I did, several times. As someone else suggested, I also removed the site's cookies (and not just cache), and that fixed a lot of things

Thanks a lot, clearing cookies (and not cache) fixed the connection problem... I still have weird behavior here and there like it's difficult to get the interface to stay in English (my browser is in a different language by default), and also I don't see this post (my post on the support channel about internet connection) anywhere in my profile... but it's a big improvement already. Thanks again

Exactly same thing for me (but on Chrome on Windows), I emptied my cache and I just can't log in (says it worked, but it really doesn't)
