Looking up the first company listed, Fullers.

They made £60M Profits in their financial year ending March 2024 and paid ~14M in taxes in total, of which ~£8M of that is NI. The change to NI would take their total taxes up to approx. £15M (25% of their profits)

I can see how their hands are completely tied and it's completely impossible for them to continue to operate with their current workforce /s

DuckDNS + LetsEncrypt + Pihole + Tailscale.

I use DuckDNS for my domain name but put in a random IP that isn't mine.

LetsEncrypt to generate certificates for my DuckDNS domain using the DNS Check option.

Pihole to locally route traffic for my domain on my network to my home server

Tailscale to remotely access to my network.

Sometimes my pc gets confused on which sound output it's supposed to use. Have you tried alt-tabbing out of the game on your pc and setting the sound output to the steam link?

I don't think the bank is a good analogy, you get a benefit out of using their infrastructure which isnt represented in your example.

It's more like someone running a makerspace, you can come use all the machinery they've put in and produce whatever you want (within some rules of the owner) even in collaboration with others. But they've put a clause in the contract that they get a copy of everything you produce there.

In the end you're getting the benefit of using their machinery and space to collaborate and they're getting a copy of your content. You can either decide that deal is worth it or start your own space.

Isn't she two generations removed from any oil business? If I was in her shoes I'd also want to use my inherited wealth for environmental causes.

On top of that, if you read the article the police have also confirmed exactly the same story as just stop oil.

Thanks!

The cycle racks are already a mess of abandoned locks and I don't want to contribute. There was talk of a lock store (essentially just a pole) being added near the racks to tidy the place up. If they ever install that I'll probably get a normal lock.

Thanks for recommendation! The hiplok looks like a great fit for what I need.

Light Weight Lock (self.casual_cycle_uk)

I already have a decent lock that I use if locking my bike up in public but I'm looking for a super lightweight lock to use when I park my bike at work. It's private cycle storage and a security guard is normally hanging out with a full view so I need something that will stop somebody just walking off with the bike but I don't need to protect against angle grinders.

Any recommendations?
