The older I get the truer that gets

I'm refinishing an old bench my wife made when she was younger with a UV blocking epoxy so it can sit outside, then I need to actually start an L desk for my tiny office. I've been putting that off for over a year and have been working on a temp desk lol

Ah nice, good find. I tried a few things and those didn't work. Though to note, the option I found to work changes apps other than the default system apps too

Right, for the color, I have a neon background and the icons stay black and white. There's no option to manually change them as far as I know. I tried changing them before I commented the first time. There might be a way to force it somehow, but that's outside of my interest level lol

-I haven't found a way to change the default app icons, but it doesn't bother me that much with all the other apps I end up having.

-the camera app is plenty good for general use. I don't use it for social media or anything, I use mine for work for taking pics of machinery and I use it to take pics of my kids and stuff and it's plenty good for that. I can't say how much tinkering it let's you do, someone else will have to give more detail

-Battery life is plenty good for me. I have a pixel 6, and I go to bed with it at like 45-60% most days. I'm sure the newer phones are a bit better, but can't say for sure

-I wish I could give more detail on the sandboxed apps, I use a few apps that use google play services and they work well, bit idk how it works behind the scenes

-honestly it just works like your phones OS should, it's really quite good

  • I also try to use organic maps when I can, but it is still missing things, I use google maps in my browser, but that's getting worse and worse

I've watched and read a lot of reviews. I don't think any of them were horrible. There were legitimate criticisms like the keyboard flex and the lid flex, but most of what I've seen that's almost ubiquitous is the price per performance worse than other makers. Its fair, but I also think it's a fair tradeoff for modularity and reparability.

I got a 6 a few months ago and it's solid. I only got it as a test but ended up using it full time. I do wish j had gotten a newer one only to future proof more

Getting a used/refurbished one doesn't really give them anything, and actually prevents them from getting data on the next person who would have gotten the used phone and used the stock OS

Its similar to the "there are only two genders, that's basic science!" Yeah, you're right, in the way that in basic science there are only 3 phases of materials. Then you get to more advanced science and things change.

I tried it after using solidworks for 15 years (I don't think it was 1.0 as far as I can tell, but it was a month ago) and it's not bad if it's the first kind of CAD you use. It is definitely rough switching from something more polished. If I had more coding acumen, I'd love to help get things more user friendly with some some of the more quality of life things.

More FOSS games would be great. I think honestly I'd just like to see more widespread adoption and support for everything I use.

That's fair, I guess I read that a little wrong
