I stayed up last night to see it, but I wouldn't be upset if they scrubbed because of freezing exhaust lines or inability to deploy the landing legs. Landing is a big deal anymore and I want them to get off the ground with at least a chance of success. I hope it goes well when they do launch.

This argument assumes that space travel and colonization as well as developing sustainable livelihood on Earth are mutually exclusive, but it could be argued that they are symbiotic. Living in space pushes our abilities to be completely sustainable, from energy conservation to complete resources recycling. Not only does being in space require us to better utilize our resources, but it also allows for easier access to resources that are burried deep within our planet. On Earth, we cause great environmental disturbances to acquire rare earth metals while many asteroids have them at or very near the surface. There's also a developing industry of zero-g (micro G) manufacturing that is much more efficient for composite materials and medicines. There's also the Overview Effect on a majority of people that go into space that mentally changes their view on both the planet and humanity.

I saw "representative from Missouri", and as a Missourian, I instantly thought "fuck!"

Carpet is much more resilient to moisture, as long as it gets dried back out - that's why it's so popular in basements. Tile and vinyl plank also hold up really well to lots of moisture. Wood Is ok with humidity, it will expand and contract, but immersion will destroy it.

Albeit in a well climate controlled area. High humidity isn't good for bamboo. I used to work with a manufacturer whose warranty for bamboo floors had high requirements for humidity, which basically eliminated my area if you like to keep your windows open. If you are in a well climate controlled area, it's awesome and renewable.

He could still live a few years though. Honestly, between Clinton, Trump, Biden, and Carter - they're all at an age where it could be anyone of them.

An idea that I had, but not motivated enough to make.

A smart smoke alarm that opens the door and calls your pet with your recorded voice to go outside. Smart so that it can be set to only go off when you're away (I don't want my dogs running out every time I screw up in the kitchen.)

Hey all, I'm visiting Nashville (Brentwood) with my dad this next week and was hoping for some local input on fun things to do, places to see, etc… One thing I'd really like to find is a good beer bar (wide selection, especially local offerings) that has trivia either Tuesday or Wednesday night. Good places to eat during the week would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance! 🤙
