My 2-week old lemmy account is already more active than my 10-year-old reddit account. I love this place!
Also, I just tried to check my old main reddit account, and noticed it's suspended. I made 0 posts regarding reddit's mismanagement of this situation, 0 endorsements for lemmy.. just haven't logged in there since the API announcement. Oh well ๐คทโโ๏ธ Can't say I'll miss it.
I know how I'm spending my day, thanks for the tip!
Content moderation absolutely is a form of free speech. They get to decide who to associate with and what ideals to rebroadcast with their own equipment. They aren't government entities and do reserve the right to express their individual beliefs. If you have a problem with that, find a better-suited instance for your own personal beliefs, or host your own.
If you want further reading on the subject, here's a well-written post that explains the positive relationship between more active content moderation and "freer" speech.
Firefox had some issues like a decade ago on their old engine. In the past few years, they seriously stepped up their game.
If you're a normal user, you probably won't even notice the difference between Firefox and Chomium-based browsers. Sometimes I come across a weird website that doesn't want to load properly, so I'll open a Chrome tab for a few minutes to access it, but that's increasingly rare.
For web development, I generally prefer Chome's debug tools, but do all my normal browsing with Firefox.
This was very informative, thank you!
If that's the worst of it, then I guess I don't have anything to worry about. Thank you!
What a weird thing to keep defending in multiple threads. I don't want to see hate speech. It provides no actual value to any open forum. Most users don't want to see it at all either, from what I've seen. This isn't 4chan.
Allowing actual Nazis to have a platform in a public space is Nazism.

I see people say this quite often, but I've never seen any credible evidence that NordVPN is not trustworthy. Can you provide any sources with valid reasons to avoid their service? I only know that they had some servers hacked in 2018, but it seems as though they took that very seriously and upgraded their hardware and encryption accordingly. I recently started to use their services and I'm not having any issues at all so far.
That thing almost looks AI-generated. Nature sure is cool.
