I use Memmy as well, works perfectly as far as I can tell. I started on Mlem but when Lemmy 0.18 came out it stopped working for me. No clue if anyone else had that problem and I just missed seeing it but either way Memmy has been great so far.

I think it depends on the person. I’m usually fine with it but I know people who would be out of commission for two days after a single Doritos locos taco.

Yeah, I had never understood why people were so upset about Meta joining the fediverse but after reading that I do agree that there is a lot of damage it could cause.

Have you heard of the establishment known as Taco Bell? It should check all of your boxes.

Yeah without knowing anything else about the world, hiding and guarding seem like the best options.

I do all that AND I don’t feel bad for making fun of them.

I mean as much as I really hate the “it’s just been a small new project” excuse it is true. I wouldn’t say “Lemmy doesn’t care” as much as it’s not super mature. Now I could be wrong and the creators could go off the deep end. I’m also not saying these privacy concerns aren’t necessarily valid. I think that it’s reasonable to not want to use Lemmy because of these, I just don’t think it’s inherently malicious.

It’s a physical necessity at this point.

Wow! This is super cool! What else have you grown there beside watermelon?

Yeah I agree, Lemmy needs to be it’s own thing and not just a Reddit hate platform. But so far the experience has been great.

Oh yeah I 100% agree with the base building aspect too. Especially when someone has a base advertising "free copper" or whatever. The low probability of finding stuff like that makes the game great.

Not only do I agree with the comments talking about corruption, but I also just think that would slow fediverse adoption to a crawl. I’m 100% not going to sign up for something that costs money even if I could get it back. It seems like too much of a hassle and potential for losing money. It also seems like it may make it even harder for the less tech literate people to sign up.
