They were fighting, you can tell just from their body language at the start. Sink cat surrendered. Then sink cat got wet and seemed to have decided that surrendering is not as important as not being blasted by water. I'm guessing that then sink cat got hit for getting back up before being permitted.

We are, because people want luxury goods too. Post-scarcity is about being able to produce most goods with barely any human labor (would absolutely be true for food if every person on earth only worked in food production or to produce machinery needed for it), which we aren't even close to. AI and automation might get us there (though it's questionable when the cycle of just investing the newfound labor capacity into more luxuries will stop, if ever), but people are actively resisting that (reasonably so) because the current economic system basically everywhere is horribly rigged towards funnelling the excess wealth to rich individuals rather than improving the living standards of society as a whole.
Seems more like it'll just replace something else in the bottom right, so nothing won, nothing lost. Overall this just seems extremely pointless for everyone involved lol
...warranty generally doesn't apply when a device is grossly mishandled. Surely that's obvious.
EU is a general 2-year minimum warranty. Not sure if there are any product specific rules for longer warranty, but yea the US situation is insane.
Would it be evil to genetically engineer a cow that can produce milk without having to get pregnant? Seems much less evil to me than the current state of things.
I can agree with the consecutive spending one, that seems like something that shouldn't be allowed, but log in bonuses? Sure it's an obvious way of getting people to keep playing your game by at least getting them to log in, but it's functionally no different from daily quests in that regard. Wow, now your log in bonus is instead a daily quest to do something extremely trivial that takes 10 seconds. And if lawmakers start wanting to forbid the concept of daily quests then I would like them to get the fuck away from my hobby.
First time spending bonuses kinda w/e, it is a pretty manipulative thing but it's so easy to work around too, just put in a one time purchasable thing that gives better value.
Makes sense though since the article said it's more about the scare of more such regulation coming than necessarily the specific proposal.
As I stated, it is not incorrect to use the term racism for religious discrimination, especially not when it involves a religion you can't just join at will. What matters is moreso whether they see themselves as a seperate people from whoever they discriminate against.
Because they can't (couldn't?) build it for the usual reasons that there's one place on the route where they have trouble getting permission. Not because of any faults with the technology.
Also wasn't even the original planned completion date still in the future? You don't build hundreds of km of railway featuring some of the longest railway tunnels ever built in a year.
"Race" for humans is a made up concept and "racism" has been used to refer to any kind of hating a group for their ethnicity. "Ethnicity" is a very ambiguously defined concept notably including shared attributes like nationality, language, history, religion, etc.
I, too, am not a fan of words being used incorrectly, but this is not an incorrect use of "racism".
I mean as a german I would read "fuck germany" and if the context is international politics I'd assume they mean the government.
But from what I know it's also true that both the US and China have some pretty strong propaganda going to make people think that criticism of their country = criticism of them personally, so specifying never hurts to avoid antagonizing people. Still doesn't seem like something to instantly ban someone over, but context kind of matters, if it's out of the blue needlessly inflammatory it's kinda worse than say a top level comment on a post about china doing something bad.
I figured this out when I was writing my bachelor's thesis. Open the latex editor in some tab and I was waaaayy more likely to actually work on it the next time I felt like I should. Otherwise just opening that page felt like an insurmountable step after which i'm clearly too exhausted to do anything else.
