I personally disagree steady growth is much healthier. This is an actual unpopular opinion which is wonderful to see however, great post!
You know that is entirely fair haha. I was thinking the same thing when I first started but I realized you can block instances as they come up and you won't see them anymore, now that I've done it awhile they rarely comeup.
Ublock on Firefox> premium, they will always try to advertise even if you pay unfortunately
Go for new instead, its always fresh! Once the bugs get sorted hot will be the goto again.
It is but I think we can make this place way better than reddit, mourn the past but also imagine the future!
I've only heard of lemmy.ml and lemmygrad having mods that are in favor of authoritarian governments. I've not seen a lot of pro authoritarian posts on lemmy.world and I pretty much exclusively stay on new.

Absolutely, even if you aren't good at making posts (like me) just try to upvote and comment as much as possible! I comment way more on here than I ever did on reddit just to try to help make the community develop more.
Overtime I think we will see duplicate instances naturally disappear because one of them will become popular.
