The entry was $18, the sign said open 24hrs...I was just trying to save on rent and food.

I'm seriously thinking your post was meant as a joke. There is so much information in these comments already about piracy. Your on a completely separate area and obviously not familiar with laws. Check out google.

The crime of taking a photo has nothing to do with piracy.

Could you cite the direct quote? Curious because I typed it up myself based on my own thought. The photo is more like a meme now.

AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics 3.80 GHz 16.0 GB DDR5 @ 5600 With the GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU

I ensured bios were setup, attempted to install and it didn't even show an error when selecting to install or live test and install. The device just restarted and nothing.

I'm actually going to give it another try, I made a fresh USB for it, it's worth a fair attempt. I know the GPU is gonna probably be unusable, but I was looking at Qubes for 80% of my tasks.

Nice, I'll check it out! I only plan on still having it installed because some exams I take might not work in a VM. Literally the only reason I plan to dual boot.

I've probably had less then a dozen web ads in the last year, I've blocked them as much as possible.

My main issue is I paid for Windows and still get ads, its annoying. But I comprehend your perspective. It wouldn't have bothered me as much if a "Do not remind me again" option was there.

What I'm probably going to do is reinstall windows 11, complete updates, run de-bloater. Then install Ubuntu along side windows (super easy) and disable Ubuntu Telemetry. Use Ubuntu as primary for just about anything, have a win VM if I can use it or worst case Windows still available if I absolutely need it.

I wanted to try Quebes but my device isn't compatible. Having Win installed, I could use it strictly for gaming too if I wanted.

~$93k USD per day fine until Nov. 3rd, Meta is trying to stop the daily fine as they are working on asking users for permission to use behavioral data for advertising.

Nah, I understand. I just didn't comprehend lol But yes, I agree!

Different rephrasing helped, yes, thank you.

[–] KrisND 7 points 1 year ago

I'll give that a try, thank you.

And then they wonder why american men have a mental health crisis. Well, buddy, part of it is you.

What part of any of that makes it partly because of me? This seem more like an off-topic rant.

I am an American and the only two I've heard is:

"don’t masturbate because touching a penis is gay"

Every time has been religion driven homophobia related.

don’t get prostate exams (this one may be more self-explainitory, doesn’t make it right though).

Goes back to the last one as well.

Probably why religion has been on a decline.

It's hard to remember all the technology that just didn't make it, it's kind of a great flash back.

An oil change was attempted, if it wasn't for the coolant reservoir being yellow (Which is, of course, the universal color for oil)...

Careful out there, read the manual and the labels.

Sync Ultra Non-Big Tech (self.syncforlemmy)

I know its new, so am I to lemmy, but I was curious if there is any plans to release Sync Ultra outside of the Play Store.

The features sound awesome and want to support lemmy but not everyone has Google Play/iOS.

An option like threema has to buy a license key and download the .apk would be ideal and I'd be all aboard!

How/Why I use Proton (self.protonprivacy)
submitted 2 years ago by KrisND to c/protonprivacy

I'm so glad to see Proton on lemmy! Hello!

Just wanted to add some activity here and explain why and how I use Proton. I've used Proton for years now but unfortunately never locked into the visionary plan when I could :(

  • Email: Not only advanced security options but multi email support that is seamless. The filtering and interface is absolutely great compared to other options. Even the free version is better, just wish it had more storage.
  • Drive: For backups and easily sharing files, recently the windows app came out so now I can access my PC files (securely) which is great but really wish there was a linux app too. But makes it super easy and much better than using Google Drive. For example I share a folder with a client and they can access the project files in virtually real-time.
  • VPN: Although, I've seen my fair share of hate on it, it's better than using nothing and it's maintained my a top notch company. The Anti-ad/tracking/malware works great! With always on set, I often forget I'm even using a VPN. And at least now I know my ISP isn't snooping, always encrypted and it's added privacy!
  • Pass: The newest service! It's really great, way better than the browser autofill I, and many others, typically use. I've completely swapped over to it. I wish you didn't ever have to access SimpleLogin for things but it's very new. I not only daily use notes but all my 2FA is setup thru it as well. Weather it be mobile or browser extension it's very stable!

Calendar is another great addition, I do use it for recurring reminders but I'm still stuck in 1990 using paper planners ☠️

With the new family plan, it's so much more affordable and I've been able to swap family over to the service as the free plan of only 500mb (1GB after steps) just isn't enough and paying for it has been the barrier. Considering I use it for hours every day for work and personal, it's been invaluable and I've never had any issues. I don't get any spam, my filters always work, it's clean and organized!

Highly recommended!

Hello fellow Pixel users! (self.googlepixel)
submitted 2 years ago by KrisND to c/googlepixel

Just started here on lemmy, taking a look around and what's here. I don't see this area is used - at least recently. However, I do love Google Pixel. I have both a 7 Pro (Stock OS) and 7a with GraphineOS.

The main thing that got me to switch to Pixel from an iPhone 13 Pro Max was the hardware and software like 12GB ram on 7 Pro, the processor for mobile gaming, the call screening on all pixel devices, call hold etc. Super useful!
