It looks like my perimeter speed is 40 mms and my infill is 50mms

[–] Koopa_Khan 1 points 1 day ago

Thank you for the tip! I just checked, it looks like it was disabled so that wasn’t my issue. I wonder why it was causing you issues though

It is PETG. That’s good to know. I’ve got a few more prints on the docket so switch to gyroid and see how that goes. Thanks for the tip!

I’ll have to go back and look at the slicer settings, but I can tell you the info is much faster than the wall just watching it go. Would you recommend upping the flow rate or my better to slow down the printhead speed?

[–] Koopa_Khan 1 points 2 days ago

Good call I’ll have to take a look. I wish I could’ve copied the profile from the Creality slicer into Prusa Slicer, but creality keeps crashing.

Thanks for the other tips. I’ve tried a cold pole with the last filament to see if we could get anything out of there and I think we should be good, but you never really know.

As far as the rest of it, it seems to be happening with every filament I slice in Prusa slicer.

This was a brand new filament I had opened from Micro Center, it’s just their generic inland filament and it looks like the humidity in my dry box is about 16% after running it through my dryer. Maybe it’s too dry lol.

To be honest, I didn’t think about replacing the nozzle that’s probably a good idea. I got this printer from an auction site used so I can only imagine it’s the original nozzle from who knows how long ago

Clogged nozzle? (lemmy.world)

Sorry for the potato quality picture. I really thought we were over this since I tune the vref, but I guess not.

Do you guys have any idea why my info would look like this but all the walls on the printer are fine? I assume if it was a clog nozzle it would be inconsistent.

Does he still work there?

[–] Koopa_Khan 2 points 3 days ago

Thanks again, will do! I think we’re gonna try and get it in next week so I’ll keep you update when we get it wrapped up!

[–] Koopa_Khan 3 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I think that settles it for us, we’ll likely take it to a framers when we get home. I’m a bit scared to try and dismantle it myself.

Thank you for the advice!

I apologize if this isn’t the correct community ask, but i was hoping for a bit of help getting this frame cleaned up.

My wife and I picked this piece up today. There’s some water damage and i’m wondering what the best way to clean the fabric matting would be or if we should get it replaced.

For those curious it looks like the artist is Edward Aldrich. We think its an oil painting and from the date we’re guessing its from 97.

Thanks everyone!

P.S. I took a look through the community and the art here is amazing!

I’m considering an a change at point as well. The v2 has been great but finicky is a perfect description. Any reason you were thinking Bambo Labs instead of a Prusa?

Of course! This should be the original link. I think my issue was slightly different, but hopefully this helps. My stepper motors were over heating and skipping steps. If it looks like that might solve your issue, this article helped with my ender 3

Thank you! I appreciate it!

Thank you! (lemmy.world)

Thank you guys for pointing out the vref issue in my last post! I got it adjusted, and they were all fairly high so now they should be dialed in. While I was in there, I figured I should probably calibrate the extrusion steps as well.

I’ve got a couple larger projects coming down the pipeline. But if I can go off of this cube, I think I’ll be in good shape.

I left the print over the weekend and I came back to spaghetti. It looks like something, caused the printer to push the print off its base like it was a poorly leveled bed?

I still have to watch the camera footage to see what failed, but I hope you guys get a chuckle out of the spaghetti monster like I did.

Rudder build! (lemmy.world)
submitted 2 weeks ago by Koopa_Khan to c/sailing

A few of you may remember my post about the back end of my boat falling off and wanted to say thank you for all of your advice/encouragement!

I started building a new rudder a couple weeks ago and am probably a couple weeks out from getting it finished up. The hole in the back end has been sealed up and I built a much stronger mounting point than the original system.

I found a template of my boats rudder and modeled a copy then 3d printed the core. Between the fiberglass and the rods I’ve added for rigidity, I’m hoping it works out well. It may be coming up to October, but I think I’ll get at least one test run before the season ends.

I took the boat out for its first sail this year and lost the rudder.

Do you guys think this is reparable or am I buying a new boat? It’d be a shame to lose her over something so stupid

Which slicer do you use (self.3dprinting)
submitted 9 months ago by Koopa_Khan to c/3dprinting

Hi everyone!

I'm curious to know which slicer you guys use.

I've been using the Creality slicer, but it seems like it pretty consistently crashes, and I've tried Cura but the print seemed stringy despite using the same settings.

How are Orca or Prusa?

How? (lemmy.world)

Does this hobby ever get easier or is it always like getting kicked in the nuts by Ronaldo?

Filament some how leaked up and burned on. I just don’t have it in me to keep tinkering. I just want to print

Is there any reason that little silver part of the extruder wouldn’t move and start clicking while printing when printing at 205 in PLA. It seems to turn just fine without any filament in there otherwise.

I cleaned out a nozzle clog, but is it possible there’s junk in the hot end stuck?

Resolution: Thanks for your help everyone! It ended up being a nozzle clog that I didn’t get all the way out. I ended up heating the printer up and doing the cool down trick. That seemed to work as a last ditch effort before buying a new nozzle.

I recently picked up a PC and decided to give the original fallout game a try. Do you guys have any tips or tricks I should know before I get started?

Ender 3 V3 Neo Enclosure (self.3dprinting)
submitted 11 months ago by Koopa_Khan to c/3dprinting

Hi all! I was curious to see if anyone had any recommendations for an enclosure for the Ender V3 Neo. I found a few on Amazon, but they look like grow tents and wasn’t sure if that would work well. For a bit of context, it seems like an enclosure is a must have for ABS printing which is ultimately what I’m after.

Thanks everyone!

Ender 3 V2 Neo Bolt Sizes (self.3dprinting)
submitted 1 year ago by Koopa_Khan to c/3dprinting

I recently picked up an Ender 3 V2 Neo at auction. All the pictures looks great, I was told it functioned, and I saw some pictures of it put together.

Long story short either they didn't include the bolts to mount the screen/gantry or kept them.

Does anyone know what screen bolts and gantry mounting bolts I need? Thanks in advance!
