Cool the world

We're paying them to produce this pollution.

[–] Knoll0114 2 points 1 year ago

It is a little annoying to see the volume of food they can eat but it's always going to be annoying. I'm a little taller than average so my maintenance is closer to 2100 at the moment but I still look at my brother needing 2700 and get jealous. At the end of the day you'd both be hungry eating under your maintenance.

It's the plagues.

Just read reviews?

[–] Knoll0114 2 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Great job maintaining! I've managed to creep back up right at the 5 year mark after 3-4 years of decent maintenance. But if I can put it on, I can lose it.

I think that for me it is sometimes good to feel proper hunger because I often just eat so frequently that I won't feel it for a long time. Allowing myself to feel hunger is then a healthy thing because it allows me to redistinguish between actual hunger and my stomach just having more room. I wouldn't want it on a regular basis though.

Yeah if they're your thing why not

A lot of romance novels. Not too surprising I guess.

All good, thank you for being the first participant!

What's the likelihood of them succeeding?

X280 Won't turn on (self.thinkpad)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by Knoll0114 to c/[email protected]

Hi, my X280 just suddenly won't turn on. It was left on a bed alone so no physical damage. When plugged in the charging indicator is solid white after flashing white 3 times. I've tried turning it on with the battery out but plugged in. I've also tried draining the CMOS battery (unplugged CMOS and the battery and held the power button down for 10 seconds before plugging everything back in.)

I'm wondering now if it could be a problem with the power button? The laptop is dual booting Fedora 38 and Windows 11 if that helps and wasn't powered off but went into sleep/hibernation before this behaviour. Is it somehow stuck in sleep mode? I have had some issues with sleep to wake being slow/finicky before.

I have access to a screwdriver set and isopropyl alcohol. What would my next steps be?

Post a link to your site and what it's about here!

For me I write book reviews, speculative and nonfiction, at my blog. It's using a colour-altered version of the Archie theme.

To get the ball rolling on the community, the title question.

Personally, I'd like a simple way to 'add' it to the fediverse. All of the example ways I've seen so far have looked pretty complicated (but to be fair I haven't really tried.)

Beehaw has decided to defederate from lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works. I believe it was already separated from lemmygrad. I think this makes this community the largest one accessible to the most instances whereas before [email protected] was. I guess we'll have to make the most of it!

I'm thinking we should have a central post for all the book sublemmys so we can easily find them. The ones I'm aware of are: Lemmy:

Fediverse:

Sublemmys in other languages would be great to add here too! I'll keep adding more as I find them.

I recently discovered Bookwyrm and am really liking it. It's not quite as full-featured as The Storygraph or Goodreads but it covers all of the most important functionalities and it's federated which I appreciate. Something that it is missing Vs either The Storygraph or Goodreads at the moment is volume of reviews (ie. Volume of users.) However, your review won't get lost in the sea so much and I've found that it's been quite easy to find readers with similar interests.

Anyway, who here is using Bookwyrm? What's your account so we can all follow each other? (Mine is [email protected])
