To scale though. You can tell because Oklahoma is the armpit along with Arizona...

That's also exactly how an addict of any drug feels. Speaking as a former opiate addict because I was young and doctors shoved it at me in the early 2000s after a knee injury, when they decided they fucked up they just stopped giving it to me but it was already too late. Which lead to 15 years of drug problems that devastated my life and permanently fucked me up. It was more than upsetting, it was outright hell. But they came out with a great new drug that would "get me off the opiates" and addicted to an even more addictive alternative that's almost harder to get prescribed. They should just keep making the damn things in abundance because people die every day because street drugs are questionable but addiction doesn't care and will take that chance. One fake pill with fentanyl in it will kill you if not made properly and addiction to regulated accessible drugs will not (but night make you wish they would). Sorry for the rant, I'm not bitching at you, just the situation.

Wouldn't it still take time to heat up? My sink takes 30 seconds to get hot.

I'm not computer worker person but I'm pretty sure most are just serving websites and podcasts and music and all the shit we actually love about the Internet. Websites like this, and Netflix, Amazon (horrible company but so glad I can buy shit on my phone that shows up in an hour or 2) even ones like Plex, pirate Bay types, or foss things. But also crypto and AI bullshit, and probably sex trafficking and illegal dangerous goods . Modern luxuries we enjoy come with bullshit attached. It's all or nothing as far as I see.

Sound bytes are more valuable to the journalists employer than all that full story nonsense. Why don't they realize true revolution and change would generate far more income and viewership than this bullshit ?

The Signal is a full mind bender of a movie. If you haven't seen it or heard of it, go in blind. It's not a pleasant movie but any means, but a fantastic independent psychological thriller. One of my favorites.

Movie synopsis

Movie synopsisMya (Anessa Ramsey) and Ben (Justin Welborn) are very much in love, but she cannot quite find the courage to leave her awful husband, Lewis (A.J. Bowen). However, when a mysterious transmission starts turning people, including Lewis, into murderous maniacs, the lovers must go on the run

Dogma (720p) (1999) (www.youtube.com)
submitted 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Two fallen angels who were ejected from paradise find themselves banned in Wisconsin. They are now headed for New Jersey where they find a loophole that can get them back into heaven. The only catch is that it will destroy humanity. A group bands together to stop them.

Because Harvey Weinstein's not only a creep but a total POS, there's no way to stream this movie on any streaming services and it's beyond Kevin Smith's control at this point. But it's definitely one of his funnier films though may not be everybody's cup of tea. But, if you like Kevin Smith, definitely watch this. Probably won't be up long but, who knows?

Another Stephen King adaptation based on the book of the same name. If you 4 hours to kill it's a good time!

Very cheesy movie from the Stephen King book but very thorough as far as adapting a 24 hour book into a movie. I believe it was a TV special when it came out. I've always loved this movie.

Another sci-fi short for you. This one is by John Scalzi and it is a great one in my opinion. Pretty sure there is a YouTube video someone made for this so if that's your thing check it out. Hope you enjoy!

This is one most of you have probably read or watched the YouTube video for. But if you haven't, please enjoy! The YouTube video is excellent but the story is great either way.

This is one of my favorites, it's an interactive reading experience sort of, but it works on mobile as well as desktop and it is really not what the title makes it sound like. It's quite an amazing read. Maybe a little too long for this place but thought I'd share! Let me know if you like it! There's a sequel as well!

I know this is a small community (here on lemmy) but I was wondering what is a good area to live there? We will make about 115k or so and are looking to rent the first year or 2. I have an 8 year old daughter and a wife. We are coming from Tulsa Oklahoma but are very left leaning. We love to hike and spend time outdoors. Def want a nice school for my daughter. Thanks for any advice!
