I have the same problem and my hygienist has also said it's difficult to floss my teeth. I rarely ever flossed. Then I got a water flosser and at the risk of sounding like an ad, it's great. It's not simply not bad; it's actually pleasant. The next time I got my teeth cleaned after buying it, the hygienist said my gums were noticably healthier and she asked what I had done.

Sorry, I didn't see the thing about Discord. I'm not going to use that.
I check Lemmy about twice a day, work in and foster a collegial environment, and have a background in science. I can't say I would be intensely active, but currently there is less than 1 post per day here, so even a little would lighten the load.
They sell water heaters that use a heat pump, cooling the air while heating the water. This saves money in the summer by reducing some of the load on your AC unit. In the winter you break even compared to a regular unit. If you're in a location that requires cooling your house for several months of the year, I'd take the opportunity to upgrade and save some money long term. You might need to run some numbers to see if the extra up front cost makes sense for your situation.
I didn't post on Reddit because I felt no desire to give free content to a business making money from me. Although lots of people really felt like it was a community, I didn't. I thought it was like a theme park - dressed up like a town in order to make you feel like you weren't inside a store. This seems like a real community, at least at the moment.
This is the first thing I thought of. ReplayGain has been how this has been done for decades. It doesn't need to reencode the file, which will reduce quality, and there are programs that will scan folders to calculate the gain for each file. Other options suggested that reencode seem unnecessary and inferior.
It has a comma splice.
Thanks. That's a nice detail to know for ID.
I would like if the preferences let you define your own algorithm too. Choosing from some presets would be much better than being stuck with whatever Google wants you to have, but if the interface let people plug in their own algorithms, then as the community started trying things we'd see some real development in algorithms that people genuinely like and that fit people's specific desires.
What about all of the other technology communities? Forums, Web sites, chat rooms, books, magazines, local clubs? We need a way to clump them all together and subscribe to them all at once.
Google Perspectives will highlight results from Quora? That's the last thing I want.
A water flosser takes 30 seconds. (I'm in this thread shilling for water flossers.)
