Find better hobbies. Consume information, and then use that information to create. There are so many free resources if you are willing to look. Find friends who make those drab moments fly by. Talk to a professional if you legitimately cannot find the joy in anything. If you see parts of your world that could be changed for the better, then be a part of that change. Who cares if you’re just one person? What were you going to do with your time instead? Jerk off and shitpost?

No one is the secret heir to a magical legacy, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make the parts of the world we inhabit as beautiful as possible in the time we have.

No silly, we don’t excuse genocide. We just proudly proclaim that there is no genocide in an attempt to hold onto the fundamentalist Christian voters that we don’t realise were never going to vote for us anyway.

But they don’t learn when you train them. They mashup what they have been fed, and shit out an approximation of your request each time. When you type “in the style of xyz”, the system doesn’t remember who xyz is. It does a search for data on xyz, and copies it.

If these models were learning, you wouldn’t still need paragraph long prompts every time you wanted to plop out another plastic-skinned anime chick with fucked-up flipper hands and huge bazoongas. It would have learned how to make that shit by now.

“Financially incentivised”? As in, the people who make a living creating original art? The people whose work is being taken without compensation and fed into a mindless program to plagiarise their work? Those bastards?

Artists aren’t some rich elite that you are winning one over on here. They are individuals who have been told for years that ‘exposure’ is the best payment. They are people, not companies. They have worked hard to develop their skills.

Their ‘financial incentive’ is wanting to be paid for their hard work? Fuck those guys right?

When these fools talk about ‘gender identity’, they don’t mean cis, hetero-normative gender identity. They assume that goes without saying because everyone thinks like them.

Would love to see them flip their lids when teachers start handing out barbies and tutus to pre-school boys.

“As we move into that” not “If”. They aren’t looking at anything. The decision has been made, the mid-game ads are coming.

And nothing of value was lost

“Remembering Prey”? The game is 7 years old, and has a release on current gen consoles. The nostalgia cycle is starting to spiral in on itself. Get ready for “Remember Baldurs Gate 3” next month.

If we want to talk about a game that is about ready for a nostalgic revival, featured unique gameplay for the time, told a story with interesting lore, and had the potential for interesting sequels, let’s remember Prey (2006). Also, it had a bus full of evil ghost kids on a spaceship. Can’t beat that.

Well first off, most paraplegics still have use of their arms, so drawing should not be a problem there.

Quadriplegics have access to digital interfaces and there are many example of an artists who use their mouths to paint. Henry Salas has lost function in 90% of his body and has been a digital artist for over a decade. https://www.henrysalas.com/digital-art

Consider what you just said about bears.

Now consider that any woman you tell that to is still likely to pick the bear than the strange man who spouts statistics about bear attacks in order to be picked to spend time alone with her in the woods.

This discussion isn’t about statistics. The fact that a woman can tell you directly what she wants, and you can tell her she’s wrong because of xyz, is why it will always and forever be the bear.

The men who are insulted are making the statement about them. They are too small-minded to consider that the analogy is about how women feel in our world today, not about picking on men. You watch movies and smugly pick out plot holes, while the symbolism and meaning fly miles over your head. We don’t need to know bear attack statistics to wonder why women are choosing the bear.

If you feel attacked by the bear talk, you either lack empathy, or are the strange man in the woods. Either way I don’t need you repping my gender thanks.
