No. I mean allowing screen tearing or disabling vertical sync. It adds input delay which makes competitive shooters feel unresponsive and thus making aiming difficult. For example on GNOME Wayland shooters feel significantly worse than on X11/KDE on Wayland (with tearing allowed)
Jontique
it all makes sense now! solved.
UPDATE: I am an idiot.
I was setting the acceleration method for the wrong device all the time. I didn't realize to select the actual mouse from the dropdown in KDE mouse settings until I plugged in my old mouse in.
Anyway that's the acceleration solved. Also as qwesx pointed out, there is some issue with my Logitech Pro X Superlight. The mouse feels more sluggish when using the wireless dongle compared to it being wired. Must be the wrong polling rate or something?
Huh, it could be that I need a fresh install. I will try adding KDE Neon or something on my Ventoy and post an update. Thanks!
My guess is that the shown number is the storage requirements when they add the war games maps and Danger Zone maps
I just heard about it an hour ago. Have you compared it to Nobara?
No worries! I switched to AMD (7900 XTX) before christmas and so far I've had no issues. A 6800XT should have pretty similar performance to a 4070, not a bad choice either. The drivers are pretty much matured already so most of the launch issues, like VR performance and power usage should be resolved by now.
But NVIDIA also just works, even though the cards can be massive, and they are quite energy efficient. Their control panel is straight from windows XP era though :D
I'm sure whatever you'll have a great gaming experience no matter what choose :)
The parts are compatible, but not sure if the GPU will fit in the case. You could go for a full tower to be sure.
There are cheaper RTX 4070 models available on the same page, so unless you absolutely want this exact model you could save 60-70€.
Also unless you need all the nvidia features like CUDA, you could also try seeing if you can find a cheap AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT in your country. It would perform better and has more VRAM for future proofing.
I recently built a custom keyboard by getting Keychron Q6 and Ducky One 3 PBT keycaps, the space is slightly tight if it's not placed evenly, but they work and have shine-through! for the switches you should do your own research, since I like tactile :)
Anyway the keyboard works via the browser app VIA which is open source
edit: check maxgaming if you're nordic. they have decent selection, it's where I got my Q6
I also have an issue when starting up Flatpak Steam on Nobara. Steam started suddenly "bootlooping". It appears in the background tasks of GNOME and disappeara after a few seconds.
I found a workaround, however; Start by closing it in the backround apps, right-clicking Steam on the dock and selecting any page to open to, like friends or store
I am also dual booting because of game compability and Virtual Reality support.
I think once wine-wayland gets fully merged we will see a clear uplift in performance, at least on wayland.
it works on KDE Plasma, you just have to enable it in the settings.
