It lets me paste the playlist link but everytime I have tried it, it makes you manually download each song in the playlist rather than automatically doing it. Am I missing the place that you download all or is this how the website is meant to be used?

I have also used doubledouble to mixed success, but sadly most of the playlists that I have tried to download encounter some sort of error which keeps it from being a reliable source.

I am open to any other suggestions for easy "paste the playlist and the site does the work" style sites, TIA

still haven't gotten around to seeing it. I loved the first two but I've really been feeling marvel fatigue as of late, and just don't really care anymore.

which is your first?

In legends, palpatine did put a whole bunch of random stuff in the suit to irritate ani, including a random beep that happened every few seconds to prevent him from ever getting a good night's rest

all the genesis games had killing music. You can look at any sonic game soundtrack and every single song is a bop

I found my dad's old genesis in the attic and I need to clean it up and hook it up to one of our two CRTs we have in our basement.

I have very fond memories of playing Sonic 2 at the ripe age of 2, as well as the old monopoly game. Looking forward to getting it cleaned up when I have some sparetime and running some of my earliest gaming memories

wait so are we moving this instance to a new website or am I correct in understanding that the instance stays the same its just hosted on a new provider?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

makes no sense how they choose to do it, and its very frustrating to deal with. at least it finalized my move to Lemmy

This is probably the exact direction I am going to take. The ability to read music without having to print it alone would make the ipad worth it. May have to get an apple pencil too.

The ability to play games at home on the weekends without having to carry my desktop would be nice though, and is very tempting

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

a great choice of course

honestly? Probably skyrim. Divided up between multiple systems, of course

I've been wondering for a while why no one was responding to anything I was putting on reddit- I was putting different questions into niche community groups and was very shocked to see that no one was interacting.

Today I learned that I had actually been shadowbanned from reddit for some reason. For those of you who don't know, that essentially means that I had been banned from participating in conversation by creating posts or comments, but I had no idea that was the case since on my end it looked like everything was posted and visible to the public. They don't give you a reason though, but since I mostly lurked and the only thing I ever did post wise was try to ask some questions in various hobby groups, I have no idea why I was chosen for a ban.

To say I am angry at reddit is an absolute understatement. I will never darken the doorframe of that platform again, and I am so thankful that we have this platform with much more liberty to converse and contribute to our little communities on the internet.

Thank you all for being here and making the internet a place where open discussions can be held between everyone again.

I think its time to replace my old, outdated by the time I got it, HP Pavilion. Its served me well through school, but its time to get something a bit faster (HP is HDD).

I am a music student, so originally I was thinking about getting a 9th Gen iPad that I could use for typing notes, writing out notes on staff paper, and as an e reader for various sheet music so I don't have to print things out so much and keep up with tons of music folders.

On the other end, I recently found a walmart near me with a heavily marked down Acer Nitro with a 3050ti. I already have a windows desktop (which ironically has a worst graphics card than this laptop) with a 500GB SSD and all the perks of windows. I can easily type notes on it, and I will be able to more easily deal with the things I have to print for my job. I would also be able to game some on the weekends without having to move my whole desktop setup home when I visit.

However, the downside of not being able to view sheet music is still there, and is frustrating, but since the two would be similar in cost once I got everything I needed for the ipad to be comparable.

What do y'all think? iPad or gaming laptop?

TL;DR- Please advise on either a pocket carry or really easy to conceal belt gun for summer carry/t shirt and basketball shorts/ other light wear.

I live in Alabama, and it's hotter than hell here a good bit of the year, especially during the summer.

I currently carry my first pistol, which I got earlier this year- a CZ P01. I love this gun, and am able to hit good groups with it (albeit a little left of where I'm aiming it) but the size of the grip makes it print very bad when wearing anything other than hawaiian shirts.

Granted, I wear Hawaiian shirts a good bit of the time, but sometimes I just want to throw on a T shirt and basketball shorts and go to walmart to pick up a few things. (I can wear my CZ p01 with this outfit, but again, it prints like crazy and is hard to conceal).

I am currently looking at pocket carry options, such as a SW 442, Charter Arms Undercover, Glock 42, LCP Max, etc. I have handled a 442, Glock 42, and an LCP max and like the feel of all of those, but I imagine the shootability of the Max and the 442 maybe a little rough.

Any input at all on these options, or anything else? I would prefer as good of a value as possible, and am willing to consider outside of pocket carry, such as subcompact, slim revolvers/automatics, as long as they conceal well under a t shirt and shorts.

Thanks in advance!

I've liked Firefox in the past on school computers, but lately I've been using brave on all my devices.

I love Brave, with its built in adblockers PLUS the ability to install more on top of it, so you can turn one off and still have protection. It feels pretty streamlined.

As someone who pirates stuff pretty frequently too, all of its pop up blockers make me feel more safe.

Should I make a switch to Firefox, and if so, why?

Was trying to watch something about a gun that I was looking at in a forum, and the link led to a youtube video that wouldn't play.

I was puzzled, but then I noticed that the video said it was for members only. I was perplexed, and I subscribed to the channel, but obviously that's not what it meant. I needed to be some sort of paid member to view the video.

I guess we're in the stages of the internet where things that were once free, and a sort of wild west as it were, like youtube, are becoming so monetized that eventually I just won't have to worry about wasting time watching youtube because there is no way that I'm buying a subscription just to watch short form factor videos.

Anybody else experienced this?

I was able to download some textbooks a while back but they never stayed permanent and I guess had some sort of DRM that made them expire after 14 days.

anybody have any way to get around that and download books from the Internet archive to keep permanently without issue?

I would just use one of the other download sites listed in the megathread but none of them have the book that I'm looking for. TIA

First off, I wanna say that I'm a meganerd, I get that. This is something really dumb , but bear with me.

As a teenager mumble mumble years ago, I was super into Star Wars, and as such was super into canon. I always kept up with canon, and what was going on behind the scenes in all the movies, books, comics, and TV shows.

I took the cancellation of the EU pretty hard, but was excited for what was to come with Disney's new trilogy and all the exciting other content that took place in the already existing timeline, which was promised to flow better with the overall narrative presented with the six main films.

But now, it seems like they're changing what's considered canon so much to the point that it's confusing (looking at recent Kanan comic and Ahsoka novel retcons and others), and I'm starting to get to a point where, I really just don't care enough to worry about a gospel truth of a nonexistent world.

It's frustrating to get invested into a franchise where at any moment, your favorite comic, novel ,game, or TV show can just be written off as never having happened in universe. For people who take these works of fiction seriously, it's exhausting!

So I've found my solution, one which I maybe should have had long ago- I just don't care anymore.

This started with Star Wars but has honestly just gone off into all my favorite works of fiction, to the point that the only thing I care about is whether its a great work of art and whether or not I have a great time with it.

Does anyone else have any thoughts regarding canon in fiction, and whether or not you actually care about it or whether you don't care about it at all?

I recently got a 4k TV and so I'm really wanting to watch movies in 4k. They take up so much space that I can't really put them on a flashdrive to watch, and as there aren't any piracy streaming sites with 4k content I was thinking about using an old PC to make a media server on either plex or jellyfin.

My parents, who are okay with piracy streaming (fmovies.to) and even downloading are convinced that if I upload to a personal plex server, that it would be the same as someone uploading to a torrent website somewhere and that I will get swatted and sent to prison.

Is this a valid concern, or is it perfectly fine to upload pirated stuff to plex? Is there any chance at all that you could get into legal trouble for uploading your pirated media on plex?
