FIFA and Madden, which are at least XBox and Playstation I believe. Not sure if they are on PC.

Please help!

We are doing an Angel tree gift this year for an 11 year old who asked for video games. Unfortunately, nothing indicates the platform, and I've tried and failed to find that out. How best to proceed?

We looked at visa gift cards, but it looks like those don't always allow you to add them to your console. Would a GameStop gift card be the best option?

Yes. F, mid 50s, West Virginia.

Looking for even better battery life with them iPhone 15 Pro.

The Shire. I'd just live in my Hobbit hole, eat second breakfasts, and take long walks. Peaceful!

With the school's financial woes, I can't say I'm surprised.

Camera. If I'm buying something that expensive, it better have a great camera.

Durability concerns. If a little speck can ruin the screen, then it's not ready to be a daily driver for me.

What are the center yellow keys? I feel like I need a spider key, but I don't know why.

Knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cross stitch, etc. The work is meditative, and you get in a groove waiting to see what the next row or stitches will look like. Producing an object feels productive, and gives a feeling of accomplishment.

Choose bright colors and fun patterns, and it's a lot of fun. There are patterns for all interests, so don't think this is the realm of only little old ladies. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Amen. And he got screwed from the Reddit api fiasco. If i remember correctly he was on the hook for as much as $250k in refunds because he's had to shut the app down and refund subscribers.

The guy has to make a living, so I don't begrudge him that one bit.

Very appreciative of the work that went in to getting this out so quickly. I have happily subscribed.

Quick update. I found the blue Devil at Graninger Farm. I wanted to update in case anyone else is looking.

Thanks! I'll keep watching for the event and check for a random down at the farm. Appreciate the help!

Is there a way to pinch to zoom on images? If so, I’m missing it.

TIA

Image over processing (self.apple_enthusiast)

I’m considering moving from Android to iPhone, but I read a lot about iPhone images being over processed. What’s your opinion? Am I going to be disappointed in the camera?

I did find this thread where one user mentioned it may be the viewer on the iPhone, and that pictures look fine viewed on other devices.

I’m curious to hear opinions. How happy are you with your phone camera?

New project post (www.ravelry.com)

Just started this little shawl, hanging out in the hotel tonight. I love travel knitting.

What is your favorite thing to make with sock yarn, other than socks? I enjoy knitting socks, but I don’t enjoy wearing hand-knitted socks (blasphemy, I know!)

Unfortunately, I’m not a big wearer of shawls either, though I will knit one occasionally.

I’m looking for ideas for my sock yarn stash. Ideas, patterns, anything welcome.

I’m a huge fan of podcasts, and I’m looking for some good writing-related ones. One of my favorites is Quitcast by Becca Syme. She talks about how techniques don’t work for every writer, and how to find what does work for you.

Mothman Festival (www.mothmanmuseum.com)

The Mothman Festival happens every year in mid-September in Point Pleasant. It's one of the largest (if not the largest) festival in WV. I have been there when there were over 12k people, which is a lot for Point Pleasant. It's a lot of fun with a lot to do. The Mothman Museum is a must see, and I recommend doing the TNT area tour if you have never done it. There's an antique shop, a great Mexican restaurant, and the Lowe Hotel is a great place to stay if you can get a reservation.

Is this the right place to suggest new communities for other users to (hopefully) create? If not, would someone mind pointing me in the right direction?

I know I can make a community myself, but if I do, I believe that makes me the defacto moderator. Unfortunately, I just don't have time to do that right now with other commitments, so that's my hesitation.

I haven't been following the WVU budget problem too closely. The faculty have issued an open letter asking for more transparency and a different path to correcting the budget shortfall.

edit - new to Lemmy, so I don't know why the URL says "Access Restricted" even though it's not behind a paywall.
