The hard part of politics is drawing hard lines. But I think many would say it's authoritarian at the point when a government is enforcing a specific ideology with force and violence, and limiting personal freedoms.

I personally don't understand how someone can be authoritarian and communist when communism is classless, but to be authoritarian there must essentially be an authority in a separate hierarchical class. But I also likely have more to learn so feel free to correct me

It's a word outside of lemmy. Just means an authoritarian communist

I'm starting to realize one of the biggest issues with the fediverse is how much tribalism is going to play a part in interactions between instances. It seems like every instance is going to have some absurd stereotypes that get repeated as fact.

Some people in .ml and hexbear were labeled tankies, accurately or not, and now you're all tankies. And this post seems to be in response to that, saying the word tankie isn't even a real thing. And now we have comments suggesting lemmy.world is also a unified group promoting certain ideologies. It's the largest instance, we're gonna have one-off crazies saying stupid stuff.

I know it does makes a small difference being on .world vs .ml/hexbear. But most people in both are leftists if what I've seen is accurate. We're just being stereotypical leftist splintering ourselves into separate groups over the smallest differences.

Yeah, a bunch of people misuse both 'woke' and 'tankie' as just insults so both seem to lose meaning. Especially with politically charged words, I think leftists have a knee jerk reaction to being mislabeled a tankie and come to the conclusion that it is meaningless and not just misused.

Thr word tankie even has a wiki page

I think it's a useful term, saying authoritarian communist is just too wordy.

I think any person who has a hand in making those laws would say it's for safety. Though I also think many people looking at it and comparing it to other vehicles that are allowed would call it politics/corruption/stupidity. I personally think it's politics

Many US states have laws preventing people from registering these kei class trucks.

For example, https://dmv.ny.gov/registration/how-register-imported-vehicle

On that page

KEI-Class vehicles cannot be registered or titled in New York State. (Authority: Section 400-a of NYS VTL)

I couldn't find anything in your source supporting your claim, did I miss it somehow? It did say they planned to use trump by "pumping him up" but not financially, and not encouraging him to run in the first place. It was a plan to make the less likely to win Republican candidates (there were several on their list) seem more likely to win to split the Republican vote. I also couldn't find any other article supporting your claim when I googled it but I might need better search terms.

I understand what you mean about it being a bad plan that backfired horribly. But blaming any single person (other than trump) for his run for presidency and win is disingenuous. She had a bad campaign, and the media spent too much time following his antics, and millions of Americans messed up by voting for a clown.

Outlaws' early gameplay feels positively ancient - not only mechanically but in execution, in its near total lack of character, flair, invention, detail, or style. In trying to describe it, the closest comparison I can draw is with Uncharted: Golden Abyss, which launched in 2011 on the PS VIta.

I think they meant dated gameplay

Yeah the bigots didn't ask me why I called them bigots. But I asked you. If they did ask, I'd tell them it's because of how they make fun of women and trans people for existing. But you didn't really care about that, you just wanted to start something. Not worth my time tho, goodbye.
