Right, they wanted a Republic free from the monarchy. That was how I understood it.

To the best of my knowledge the left does not want a monarchy. The right definitely does want a monarchy.

I guess having a monarchy might have changed the dynamic a bit.

I have pretty honest conversations with my kid. He is pretty bright and I can explain things to him.

A while back we had a conversation about weed. I told him it's just a plant that grows, gets harvested, processed and smoked. Since, he's still single digits in age, I told him it's an herb. I didn't really want him screaming "weed!" If he smelled it outside.

I'm nervous about him growing up today. It's a scary world out there, alls' I can do is try and teach him about it.

I was told it was because of the French revolution. Imho, I think the terms are mostly rigid concepts.

Iirc they largely rolled into the Republican party. Which is what might happen to a large majority of Democrat politicians that lean center right, if the party actually becomes Democratic again.

That isn't the case and by many people's estimation could never be the case. This is juxtaposed with the idea things can only get better with the degradation of the current world order.

How do you implement direct democracy and scale it without interference from the capital class?

I'm a big fan of anarchism and socialism but, it's still my opinion that the best way for us to achieve those systems are a transitionary period emerging from a liberal democracy. I feel all other ways will be orders of magnitude worse for humanity.

I think I got it now, from your perspective liberal democracy is only this abusive dynamic. A dynamic, in your estimation, that can never lead to a more equitable and democratic system.

Which system could we expect to live under that would reform or dismantle the capitalist order? Dystopia?

I only ask, if it can't be done under a liberal democracy, what system would this task require?
