Well, welcome. You are now a moderator here. When I'm asleep and when Siyah is asleep, you shall watch over the place to make sure nobody calls each other names. If you decide the job is too taxing, you can remove yourself as mod at any time. Please remove yourself as mod if such is the case. And welcome to the mod team! Thanks for joining us. I for one am a huge fan of Canada. Unless we're talking about hockey.

nice. just came up on my Spotify, and I said to myself, "my dad got so offended by my love of this album and I bought it because it had boobs on the cover."

I loved playing this game. I was always asking people to play it with me because I was a little kid. I'd be like, "Hi. Pleased to meet you. Can we play Mario arcade?" whenever someone new came to the house.

That's the other thing I didn't talk about in my comment and I should have. You're absolutely right. Every month of the year there is some kind of deal and it's probably not for the component you're Jonesing for because it's new. Couple that with inflation and it just makes waiting for a deal or sale not interesting to the consumer, especially now when particular components are just increasing in price all the time, like graphics cards. I'm starting to suspect that RAM is going to go up in price, too, along with graphics cards. This is why a lot of people are looking at second-hand components. I actually would have done the second-hand route, but I didn't have a case. I had to start from "this is my mother board I want, this is the case that is compatible." Now that I have a case and a motherboard, I just have to cross my fingers and hope ten years into the future I can make use of either one of those. My bet is on the casing. Perhaps motherboards will continue the design trend of my case. But, then again, cooling fans are now needed as part of the casing. Maybe in the future we'll need 10 fans instead of 3 or 4. LOL Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if some retail speculators wouldn't feel enticed to buy some PC components now to sell them for more later to benefit from this pricing trend.

I actually just bought parts for and built a new PC this week after waiting a little while to see how prices were going to fluctuate. I built a PC for gaming, so my situation might be different from yours. I decided to do it now instead of waiting because prices aren't doing anything but go up, especially when it comes to dedicated graphics cards and SSDs. I bought a high-end graphics card because I predicted that its price would only go up, not down, no matter what kind of sale event is happening, along with all the other graphics cards that aren't as "powerful." I DID get some discounts for "back to school" as well as a cashback special from ASUS for my motherboard. Also, I saved a ton of money by buying a motherboard without onboard WIFI or Bluetooth. I just bought adapters which came out cheaper in my case. I encourage you to check up on the latest news about computer components and pricing. I think you'll notice what I did: prices for certain components are only going to increase in the next few months (and the next year). It's kind of like when there's a gas crisis. If you suspect gas prices are only going to increase, you fill up your gas tank every day to save money, even if your gas tank is 3/4 full. I preferred to pay what I did for the graphics card now instead of paying more later. Anyway, I'm just telling you what I've done to help you decide how you want to proceed. I'm not telling you that you have to do it this way.

Thank you! These are great and yes, it was one of those. I'll take all three, though! They're all really good.

That's where you're wrong, when you're on the whole "it's their work" thing. They shared a link. The link is out there. Somebody else created the content on the link. I'm still actively searching for the link, which I shall share all on my lonesome when I find it. The author did nothing more than share a link. Not much work there on the part of the author. What got up your ass, anyway? As I said in my post, I would love to have the opportunity to retrieve the link the user shared. The user didn't create the content available on the link. The link disappeared with the post deletion. Also, let's not credit people with content creation they didn't create. You're not really too smart or something and you're harassing me. Would be really nice if there was some decent moderation around here. In my community, you would have already been shut down for being belligerent when unnecessary. Also, I will share the link here for you when I fucking find it, because I am going to find this goddamn link on my own with no help from that user. Know why? Other mod is from Pakistan and studies anthropology and loves criticizing colonialism just as much as I do. And you? You're a major troll making outrageous accusations that are unfounded. I just want my URL to post again, because we loved it over there in our community. The URL. That's it. We just want our MTV and our URL.

It saves it if a moderator acted on it. In this case, the user acted on it, and everything was lost. The only way the full content of something shows up in the modlog is if a mod deleted. The user deleted. I just wish I could recover the link that the user shared so I can share the link again, because I think with all my heart it's significant. I've been spending a lot of time looking for it now to just post it to my community myself. Such an impact. Historically important photos from the colonial era of India as well as present-day Pakistan and other places. Anyway, my point is that there is a difference between what the mod deletes and what the user deletes. If the mod deletes it, it's there in full in the log. If the user deletes it, no trace. Which is weird. Ever try to delete your account on here? Still can't without begging an admin for that.

I'm not trying to do anything. I don't know how to do it. The ethics of it is beyond my small mind. Really nice post that, on the ethics front, criticized British colonizing of India and other parts of Asia. I think you really need to discuss your ethics issue with the British Empire that is no more or something. I'd really love to recuperate the link that the user shared and just share it myself, nothing more. Your ethics radar is really off here. I guess you haven't heard of external links? Criticisms of colonization by Western Powers in the past? What compass guides your ethics? The one up your anus?

thank you for thinking of that. that makes sense.

Well, I'll start because I've always thought this was fascinating: A now extinct dog called the Alco is native to Puerto Rico. It was mute or, in other words, it didn't bark, and the indigenous people of the island domesticated them and used them to hunt guinea pigs. They were popular after the Spanish came to the island because they were small and were kept by the "ladies" as "lap dogs" and "pleasantly quiet companions."

Something from Buffy is somewhat real, huh? "Once more, with feeling."
