It's actually relatively safe. Most of the time they f*** things up by purposefully misinterpreting vaguely worded things. It's pretty explicit. They would have to outdo themselves to abolish it outright.

It's been going on far longer than trump. And they may not be there yet. They've been pulling procedural fuckery for the last 30 years minimum. But the post office itself is constitutionally mandated. It would require an amendment to the constitution. Not impossible. But also not an executive order.

So.... Wait. Does that mean capitalism is socialism too? /s in case anyone needs it

I can never up vote this song enough. Or the band. They released a new album in October. And the interactions I've had with zombina and the group have always been great.

Unfortunately now I have this song stuck in my head again. But I'm used to it being stuck more than not.

So far that's been my experience. I've done a number of very simple models in blender even. Sliced and printed them no problem. Every model I've downloaded has been just point and click for the most part. I was looking at getting an Ender myself at one point. But I've dealt with SLA printing in the past. And know how much the tinkering put me off of it. I still need to get my Mars printer functioning again. I'm having issues with anything sticking to the build plate. I just haven't had the time to really dick around with it

The Ender and creality are good systems. But as you said they do require a lot of tinkering. My very technically inclined brother-in-law got an Ender last year. And had a very bad time with it because of all the faffing about you had to do. Conversely this year I got an a1. And it's more or less been point and click. There's plenty of other technical stuff to get into with it. Such as filament types feeds and speeds and heats. Supports and infills. Which it also helps out quite a bit with. But there's more than enough to learn just picking it up

Bambu has their printer software available for all major platform. For Linux I think it was in the Arch extras or aur. I have used it from Linux and it has generally been a good experience.

If someone is an fdm newbie. The A1 series is hard to go wrong. Creality is great too. But it takes a lot more tweaking to get it where the bambu is out of the box. BIL got an ender last year and not had a good experience. I got an A1 this year and it's been a blast from the start. These are all anecdotes. But personal experience to consider.

Well yes that's true. To publish yes. But not to follow etc. About the only other option. Considering how obscure RSS is unfortunately. Is the old-fashioned way. Get a free linode basic server. Edit the RSS and upload it to the server. Someone might be able to slap together a basic GUI to handle the simple XML. Appending to the top and then sending it via FTP. But then that's just a lot of work to not use Lemmy.

I may be mistaken, but I think most activity pub services offer RSS. Kbin/Mbin Mastodon etc.

You don't have to use Lemmy to use it. You just have to copy the URL. Then as people create new posts in the community they will show up as entries in the RSS feed. You don't need to be logged in or subscribed to a community.

More or less Lemmy can do that. Communities offer RSS feeds generated by their users.

Here's the RSS feed for the comics community

Because the media, often called the 4th estate here is long dead. For the better part of the last century it's increasingly been a corpse reanimated by the ownership class. And now the remaining rotted flesh is being scrapped and stretched over constructs of silicon and steel.

There's constantly little trickles leaking out. Showing that Americans aren't that divided. That we agree far more than we disagree. But that doesn't sell your attention span. Fascist media is always ready with someone powerless minority group to blame for our problems. Liberal media always there to tell us to be outraged and march against it. Pitting us against each other. Just so what recently happened doesn't happen. Where we can look at each other and collectively identify the oligarchs as the problem.

While we shouldn't denigrate formal education like conservatives and fascists. We also shouldn't discount those educated outside it's walls. Being against the man is a fine start. Everyone should be. The trap is being so ideologically against the man. One can't engage with the man when circumstances make it necessary.

Unfortunately many will never have the time to develop critical thinking skills. Or want to. Many are content to be good sheep. And there's nothing we can do to change that. What we might be able to do is remove the wolves shepherding them.

One of the first steps to doing that is to abolish the notion that it's wrong or impolite to talk politics in polite company. If we cannot talk about it amongst friends, family, and acquaintances. Who can we? Are they then to be left to go home, indoctrinated by the reanimated corpse of the 4th estate. Completely unopposed? Because that's how we got here.

We need to learn to talk to each other again. About politics and all manner of things forbidden by the ownership class. Radio, TV, Papers and social media especially. Are complete tools for propaganda at large. And they have easy marks while we continue to hold our tongues. Whether or not you agree with Mangioni, it's clear to see their terror when we actually talk about it. Not just repeating their narrative.

We would be better served by engaging in areas where we agree. Engaging less in the wedge issue culture culture wars being manufactured. (Not abandoning the minorities being targeted) Pushing back collectively against the propaganda. They aren't prisoners being held against their will in some cave. They're the ones keeping themselves there. But there's nothing from stopping Society at large from storming in their self-imposed isolation with torches. Casting their own Shadows on the wall. The dim Shadows they chase are only allowed to persist. Because we are told not to disturb them.

A brand new music video release by Drab Majesty up on YouTube. And be sure to check out their discography on Bandcamp. I can't recommend this group strongly enough.

A brand new single from Mark and Emily. A cover of Siouxie and the Banshees classic cities in dust. Be sure to check out their BandCamp. These two have definitely been one of my favorite darkwave duos of recent years. One of those rare groups where I can listen to pretty much their whole discography on loop. Even their sound track for the short-lived show Moonbeam City was excellent. As well as a fun track on the first Deadpool soundtrack.

Sophomore release out of Amherst Mass. Like what I've heard so far. Will have to finish listening through the album soon.

Debut release by Fever Gleaming out of Minneapolis. Find it as usual on their bandcamp of course. 😉

Sophomore LP by Wisconsin duo Wristwatch. Check it and the rest of their catalog out on bandcamp.

A couple of fresh tracks from Silicone Values out of Bristol in the UK. Check it out on their bandcamp. A very raw low-fi selection with solid garage vibes.

Out of Helsinki Finland Suzi Sabotage has released her debut EP Love at First Bite.
