In this instance, I think people need to separate the art from the artist so to speak. The Chinese EV's are already doing well in other countries and it can't only be because they are cheaper though I'll admit that is likely a large factor. Why not buy the best product for your money?

Honestly, I bet the roads would be safer today if anyone who made traffic regulations had never driven. As it stands I think rules and design are mainly for driver convenience rather than general safety.

Personally the attraction here with the boox is the e-ink screen. I also use my phone for reading pretty much everything but e-ink would be easier to look at for longer sessions.

I've accidentally turned on backup this way and lost a ton of storage. Definitely an obnoxious way to push your product.

Ideally to drive the price of competing cars down or at the very least make the current models more feature rich/compelling than their cheaper Chinese counterparts to justify the price gap.

As it stands, Chinese built EV's have feature parity for the most part with locally built or otherwise imported EV's. All at a relatively great price for the product.

My guess is there is going to be some added weight for better cooling/heat sinks. You're right there's bound to be a catch since you can't typically out engineer laws of physics.
