And that would totally also apply to white people, right? … right?

Unironically Dems winning Texas may be one of their best shots at keeping the Senate. They face a VERY uphill battle. If they keep Ohio (huge if) they will still need to keep Montana, or win another red state like Texas.

It’s a pretty uphill battle right? Aren’t Dems defending senate seats in Montana, West Virginia, Georgia and Arizona? I think the House is pretty much guaranteed if Harris wins, but the Senate is a long shot.

I really hate these headlines. 1. The actual shift is tiny (don’t get complacent). 2. Soon enough the media will be bored and cherrypick some numbers that are good for Trump generating new headlines. Anything to ensure the debate is not about policy.

That’s the type of argument that I used to buy into. I don’t anymore, because it has become abundantly clear that Israel’s attitude to Palestinians is exactly the same as Hamas’ attitude to Israel.

Really? Does that also count for Germans during WW2? They suffered a ton more than the Russians in Kursk do now. Just to be clear, I would be strongly opposed to fire bombing Russians (as we casually did to WW2 Germans/Japanese civilians). However, I would say that the current Ukrainian invasion into Russia falls well within the bounds of a proportional response.

From a foreign policy perspective it’s extremely undesirable to have the President and VP provide different messages. Who should (foreign) diplomats listen to? Who should be send to peace negotiations if different members of the cabinet have different positions? I don’t think something like that has ever happened.

Bibi would LOVE to give Trump his first political victory. However, he’s probably also seeing the writing on the wall that Trump might not win.

She cannot do that unfortunately. She’s vice president in a government that explicitly doesn’t do that, and she can’t openly deviate while running.

Not sure about that. For high school math it is still quite important that students are familiar with circles and angles on circles. Analogue clocks are a gentle introduction to this.

Household plastic is essentially non-recyclable. No way is plastic waste ever sufficiently sorted by the type of plastic, or cleaned sufficiently from food rests etc. The focus should be on Reduce, Reuse, and properly dispose. That most likely means burning it. Great? No way. Better than in nature? Hell yeah. Better than shipping it to Asia for pretend recycle? Definitely.

Unfortunately Dems can’t keep the Senate if they don’t keep at least keep some rural seats. This time they will certainly lose West Virginia and Montana, and are extremely unlikely to pick up 2 seats somewhere else. Problem is that they are already outperforming in swing states like GA and AZ, so there’s very little upside potential. If by some miracle they win the presidency and both houses of congress, they must prioritise statehood for DC/Puerto Rico if they want any chance in the future.
