The idea that murder is some kind of part of our human instinct needs a reference. Institutionalised murder has been a part of human civilisation throughout history. Think war, holocaust, death penalty, cannibalism, gladiator games, witch trials, ritual sacrifice etc etc.

As humans our defining feature is our cultural variety. Almost all rules one could think of have at some point been tried by a civilisation. Core programming only affects the very basics of requiring sustenance and reproduction.

Yeah I was going to say this. Just because their pay is shit, does not make TSA employees nice people.

Can you explain to me the term “socially constructed “, and why it is so relevant here? Isn’t all of law, and the rules we live by, socially constructed?

The sound of Musk is music to my ears. He is an incompetent and overconfident. A great way to get nothing done. Of course voters do not hold politicians to their promises, but if they did hiring Musk would be a great way to ensure failure.

You make it sound like they are ignorant when they are instead hiding evidence of corruption from government servers.

Such a bizarre campaign this year. In polls almost nobody placed healthcare above immigration in importance. Yet, after Luigi it has become clear that healthcare is in fact a winning issue.

The Kamala campaign was very careful to NOT say that the economy was doing great. It was Biden who essentially had this as his campaign strategy. I wonder why this piece of misinformation is so persistent on this platform. It is always mentioned by people without reference to a source.

Let me add a reference to break this spell: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/sep/25/harris-opportunity-economic-plan-middle-class

Of course there’s a difference. Among others vaccines might soon be banned. Think also about women’s healthcare (abortion etc.). But yeah, if you are thinking about systemic positive change she likely would not have done much.

Yes clearly, but bizarrely during the campaign season voters did not list healthcare among there primary concerns, caring more about immigration and the economy.

I don’t think they are complaining yet. Precious few of us truly care about the rule of law.

I really hope that nobody sets up a bot that calls this new hotline 24/7 from different numbers.

The best model is the tea party caucus of the GOP. They were able to completely hijack the party while keeping the structure in tact.
