Like Tolkien, his writing style isn't for everyone. Some are drawn in by the madness and cosmic horror realized, others can't penetrate the veil and tune out. Then again, that's what's great about fiction and story telling. Finding what works best for you.

Honestly, there are very few adaptations that aren't cheesy or completely removed from the source material in somewhat major ways.

Take the Shining. Great film. Great book. The two should not be compared as if they were the same story.

Dreamcatcher on the other hand, no notes. Perfect in both versions. Especially the fact that the movie kept the shit weasels in.

For some comparison, wife and I went to a Tuesday noonish showing of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and there were more than 8 people. So, at a time slot that would be totally understandable to have 1-2 people at a showing, there were way more than for this waste of digital space.

Cheney had the benefit of hardcore "murrica eagle caws freedum" sentiments where they could do little wrong

Hell, the Dixie chicks got cancelled because they said "I'm not super fond of war, actually"

In TX, Theodore "I left my dog snowflake at home while the state was freezing and without power for a family trip to Cancun then blamed my wife and children for the trip" Cruz is currently up for defeat.

He only just barely won against Beto O'rourke last time. Colin Allred is closing in and needs all the help he can get.

I would like to know more about this jellyfish. And your lcars

I'll trade you a design I found/am getting set up for my workflow of a 3x3 macropad with a rotary dial to cycle through multiple pages of macros beyond just 9.

You're very brave showing your wiring.

Just built a simple 3x3 macropad and I spent several hours trying to keep every last bit of the wiring clean and I still have a rats nest....

You saying we can trust the Danes?!? Have you heard their language!?!

[–] DokPsy 4 points 1 year ago

I wonder how much of that is because of how much they grew vs the production cycle as dictated by constantly feeding the yt algorithm.

The difference between putting out a video every day and putting out a video when it's ready is a decision that each channel makes

If I want an actual review, I'll trust Jeff Geerling, GN, Explaining computers, Craft computing, or ETA Prime.

If I want to watch someone do dumb tech stuff, I'm going for Linus, Dawid, ...and red shirt Jeff Geerling. The difference is that the latter two go into it fully transparent that what they're doing is purely for the "will it blend?" vibe and should not be taken too seriously.

Linus' videos blur the line a little too much between legitimately educational and purely for the entertainment value in a way that could give people false impressions of either the tech or processes.
